instead of thinking of passionate fans and a proud club, fans when they think about cardiff now think of an oddball owner, and a petty little squabble over the shirt and badge.
it got our name out there, but in no way did the club benefit. newcastle got some publicity when they changed their stadium name to the sports direct arena, but thats not a positive. we were held up as a club that symbolises all that is wrong with foreign owners and modern day football, only someone like tan could be so deluded to think in terms of 'any publicity is good publicity'.
tan knows he's lost the backing of 90% of the fans, out of those 10% i'd say half support him and the other half only care about the football side, which is fair enough. he doesn't really care what the fans think any more because he knows there is no real way to win us back which doesn't involve backtracking over the rebrand.
he'll suit the MLS more as if he rebranded an MLS team life would move on quickly. they don't care so much for history and tradition as there is no tradition in the MLS.
