Hiding in the bushes
I'm off into the woods with a load of small children this weekend. And I'm also going camping (badoom-tish!)

Any of you twats put the tent pole up?

Nights under the stars, toasting marshmallows, sausages on sticks and all that.

Living in Canadia as you do,isn't there a danger of being eaten by bears when camping?

they never sniff around your camp? Looking for honey or whatever?
They walk right through the camp , with cubs at times . There are seldom attacks , and I'll never fully understand why . Me and my wife have accidentally turned corners on trails and walked past bears feeding on berries . You could reach out on touch them . The " Park " bears seem to have a built in tolerance that is passed down I believe . If you ran into a bear in an environment without them having " human " inter action , I believe you'd be in trouble .

Ha....

The roofer ruined your thread with his fascinating story about his fat ugly bossy wife.

Is there not one bear(grizzly?) that you should play dead and another(black?) make yourself as big as possible and make a lot of noise or something like that? Asking for a mate.

Never surprize a bear , if you know he's there , talk and make noise as you walk near. If that doesn't work turn around , take your pants down and let him have his way , Duncan can give you the details on the manoeuver

Yes, but only with a black bear, if you make lots of noise with a grizzly they will think of it as a challenge, hence if you are against a grizzly you should play dead. Think I saw it on QI.

Make yourself big and shout at it.
