Roll up, roll up, get your thinking caps on, and musical memories in gear.

Give us YOUR EIGHT musical offerings, together with reasons for choosing them, if you feel up to that.

If you don't have the EIGHT already in your brief, start the ball rolling, and revisit.

Anyone up for it, to get the ball rolling ?

Picking just eight records is an impossible task. Even 800 would be a problem for me, and doubtless others would feel the same.

Anyway, my first eight, are,

1. ' Myfanwy ' --- Morriston Orpheus. I was brought up in Morriston, so choosing them first up was quite an easy choice. The song is sublime.

2. ' Stardust ' --- Louis Armstrong. One of the greatest songs ever written, and the great man gives it his own special treatment.

3. ' If you are but a dream ' --- Frank Sinatra, Axel Stordahl, 1945 version. Can't be without Frank.
This is one of his lesser known recordings which I first heard in Woody Allen's film 'Radio Days'. Once heard it became my favourite Sinatra track.

4. ' Blueberry Hill ' --- Fats Domino. An all time classic.

5. ' More than this ' --- Roxy Music. First heard this when living/working in Thailand. So it takes me back to up country, open air disco, dancing with gorgeous Thai girl. If I close my eyes, I can still see her.

6. ' Begin the Beguine ' --- Artie Shaw. Another classic oldie.

7. ' Love don't live here anymore ' --- Jimmy Nail. Fantastic song, fantastic singing by The Geordie Boy. Self explanatory.

8. ' Without you ' --- Harry Nilsson. Brim full of meaning, if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, am unable to produce the videos.

Well, I enjoyed that trip down memory lane.

Here's to the next eight.

Going to the gym now, then off the La Bras for lunch.

Will upload what I can for you this evening - if sober <laugh> <cheers>

Everybody want to rule the world - TFF - some girl used to sing it in the Queens 1987
House of the rising sun - animals - joined their fan club aged 12 - went racing off when a tour guide told me which of the hotels the House was based on in n'orlins
Never My Love - association - danced with a beautiful German girl in the Mayor's party in Toulon 1968
Young Girl - Gary Puckett and the Union Gap - played it at Penlan Community Centre and started going out with a girl 2 years younger - she was 14!
When Will I see you again - three degrees - had the last dance with Margot down the Rank before she went to America - about 6 months after I got married!
Sylvia's mother - Dr Hook - played down Caswell when I picked up Karen - just a month after I got engaged - used to bring her and my fiance in the Griffin at the same time!
Gimme a little sign - Brenton Wood - someone wrote the words on the only valentine card I never knew who sent
Weekend in New England - Barry Manilow - just love Barry!
