I enjoyed the game, right result really but we made them work for it, especially at the end. Good effort by us against a team that should get promoted.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Probably the best team we have played this season.

    And you.

Predictable result but nice to get a goal and play better second half.

Just been on Twitter and the first few comments under the #watfordfc tag is about him and how he has to be sold/dropped.

I mean yes not great kicking it out when we need a goal but hardly the worse crime of the day.

It's not like he kicked it into his own goal or straight to a player..

You're probably well-advised to forget twitter and follow the club on Bluesky - the doom & gloom hate merchants haven't reached there yet. Hopefully they never will...

Best to keep off social media, all I have is FB and you sort of have to have that unfortunately.

Just how can you stop all the holding and grappling in the penalty area that goes on when there is a corner, or free-kick from some areas? Time after time, the ref has to hold up play while he speaks to the players. As soon as he moves away, the holding starts again, and he does nothing.

    No true .

Just seemed a weird thing to take out from the game.

Footballer mis kicks a ball thrown at him in windy conditions and rushed shocker..

Blimey the out field players did that all game !

Book them or send them off even. Award a penalty if culprit obvious.

When you see the number of foreign nationals and British-born coloured players representing clubs up and down the country, just what goes through the mind of some primitive spectators when they racially abuse a player close enough to hear? I did notice a Watford player, not sure now which one, speaking to the ref in a serious manner at Burnley, and it has now come out that the club are trying to find the individual. It is 45 years since John Barnes suffered bananas being thrown at him, so for some enlightenment has not arrived yet.

A Burnley fan on Twitter posted that the player in question was Baah - and the fan in question was making sheep noises at him. I'm not sure how true that it though.

According to a report in the Burnley newspaper, someone was ejected from the ground. If that is the same person, they must know who he is. All a bit strange.

Well if he was making sheep noises then I would hardly call that discriminatory, just a silly play on his name trying to be amusing perhaps. Of course we don't know the mind set of the bleating individual though. I wonder what the sheep community think?
I expect I will get abuse for this comment but sometimes we have to have a bit of common sense and rational.

Yes I guess if that is what happened then obviously been an mis understanding and will be resolved .

However there might have been another incident which does need to be dealt with .

Agreed. I did wonder about the alleged tweet - little more than playground name calling really. But then my name isn't Baah - maybe I'd view things differently if it was.

I find it hard to believe that both clubs and the police would be taking this seriously if it was simply playground humour.
