Absolutely gutted. A real gent and legend poster on here. So sorry for his wife and family. The site will be worse off without him. RIP.

Today goes from bad to worse, that's really awful news after all that Burly (Blunham) has been through.
In his last few updates on here he seemed like he was winning the battle against the big C and was looking forward to having a Guinness down the local pub. Sadly I never got to meet him but he always came across as a funny, genuine and a truly great bloke. He had some great stories and always saw the funny side of things.

I'm wiping away the tears just writing this. RIP Burly Hurley a true gentlemen, you will be missed by all on the Sunderland & Premier League boards

Cheers Blunham it was a pleasure - Best wishes to your family <peacedove>

Aw bloody hell. I’m absolutely gutted about this. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met as brief and fleeting as it was last year.

Thoughts with his friends and family. You’ll be missed

Only very occasionally posted on your Board but did pop over from time to time to catch up with what you lot were doing. Didn’t really know Burley but had respect for him as he came across as a genuine bloke and a genuine fan. Sorry to hear the news of his passing away and my thoughts are with his family and friends and hope they can draw some comfort from how highly regarded he clearly was by his friends on this forum.

RIP.

Don't get on here all that much anymore. Never really saw anything about his illness. To be honest, I didn't even realise he was Blunham.

When I used to come on a **** load going back 5 years or whatever, blunham was the nicest poster on here by a ****ing distance. Oozed class and calmness no matter what.

Really torn up to hear all of this. The world is genuinely a worse place without him about. Rest in piece mate.

There plenty of wedding cake up there for you in the sky!

Have known Burley mainly from posting on the General Prem board. Have already left a message on there but also wanted to leave a message on here.

I will miss his warmth, humour, strength and kindness. A fine poster and, although I never got to meet him personally, a damn fine human being too as far as I can see from comments from those who were lucky enough to have.

Thoughts with his loved ones.

Sad news indeed.

Seemed an absolute top bloke from his time on here and no doubt he was in real life too.

Thoughts to his family, RIP Blunham/Burly.
