Fine with the 0-0 at half time but can't help but think Redmond up front is causing us problems. We want him on the ball more and give him someone to play off. I think Lafferty would make a big difference up front with Grabban and Redmond just playing off him.

Less of the ball to Redmond for me, give it to him higher up the pitch. I don't mind him being central because he can't create anything for anyone else.

Wolves dont look great at the back. We just need to be able to exploit it. Wes is having to pick the ball up far too deeply.

Surman off for Lafferty and drop Redmond back to left wing? 442?

Or a straight swap, Redmond off for Lafferty with the same system?

Personally the team I've wanted to see is a 4-3-3 with Redmond, Lafferty and Grabban up front and Tettey, Surman and Wes behind. Surs hasn't been great though. and 2 changes at half time might be a bit drastic. Almost feel too conservative with this line up, not getting high enough up the pitch.

Credit to Wolves though. They have penned us back and been really up for it, getting to every loose ball. Just that lack of quality in the final third + some good tackling from our defence holding them back.

Other clubs in this league will steamroll through us if we're playing this casual.

We are away, first game, new manager against a team on the up.

I think we have looked comfortable and that is much better than I expected. We just need to cut out the short possesions when counter attacking.

0-0 would be a great result.

I can see Grabban thinking exactly what Van Wolfswinkle was thinking all last season... "how am I supposed to score when our team cant keep the ball or create anything".
