He made a gesture towards the ref's pocket as the Ref moved towards him. Something of nothing, really.

Ha, I was just going to start a thread on that very topic.

Unless we get someone in who can really defend, our 'Goals Against' will look like a cricket score!!

    Why do you say that?

We lost 1-0 away to recently promoted side (with confidence) after going down to 10 men.

The defence wasn't the issue today.

You can also be surprised how much damage can be done supporting an incorrect decision. A darn site more than not supporting it.

You can also cause a lot of damage making a snap decision based purely on personal opinion not supported by hard facts.

    Hard facts?

Look at Adams record, the hard facts are far worse than my own opinion of him.

But knocking the players now is clearly the wrong thing to do. Have you ever heard of self fulfilling prophecy? Too many Norwich fans expecting the worst and that's what we're getting. We all say professionals should just ignore it but when most of your fans are questioning your quality before the season has started then you going to have a bit of trepidation about the season.

I'm not knocking the players, the players are easily good enough.

A self fulfilling prophecy relates to me. I do not have power to influence the board.

His record? You mean 5 games in the run in from hell and 1 game in the Championship?

You asked for hard facts and then brought in context to make your point.

How about the context of a wholly inexperienced youth manager, unnecessarily, with plenty of experienced options, to take charge of a season of such importance that will probably decide the future of the club over the next 5 years.

Both the hard facts and context do not bode well.

No but the overall feeling of the fans, with the constant negativity, will filter down to the players.

Well if the manager is up to it, the results will be OK to prevent complaints, no issue for complaints.

They won't however, because Neil Adams is not cut out to manage at the top.

I'd say Pilkington is certainly trying to make a point.

Saw that. It's both strange and worrying. On the one hand, good on Pilks for speaking out because it can't be fun seeing something untrue being spoken about yourself. On the other hand, it shows a blatant disrespect for the manager... Oh dear.

I'm more concerned about the manager lying and causing a rift in the squad.

But on the other hand I guess Pilks should be more professional and kept quiet. But it's just another disappointing for me, a fully fit Pilks should be playing.

Pilks is one of my favourite players. He was class for two years in the Prem. If he's being left / forced out it just doesn't make any sense. The only possible reason I can think of is that he doesn't fit into the diamond formation that Adams seems to want to play. But you've got to be flexible with tactics and Pilks gives you options.

As you say, he definitely should be at least in the squad.
