Most expensive squad and yet according to this greengrocer a little club compared to some others, funny. Of course it's one thing getting players, it's another thing using them properly. Some managers will get more out of cheaper players simply because they understand how to use their abilities better.
Oh ****, I always thought the yardstick was ten games, when did it change? Did Blatter change it at the same time that he was sabotaging his friend in France, or have you simply still not expired all of your goodwill? Seriously, why 20 games? Our season could well be dead and buried by that point in time.
I've given him 60 games already, I can give him another 11 if you like, but I predict that **** all will change between now and then.
If he got sacked (which he won't), it would be for looking fairly clueless for eighteen months, not just for the last nine results.
From where is Steve Bruce getting his motivation to succeed? Is he being supported, or moaned at, or ignored and left to his own devices?
Are you purposely evading the issue of the rank poor performances, along with the fact that those stats that you've quoted could and most definitely should be a whole lot better if not for some totally baffling decisions by Bruce?
Blackburn never threatened! I heard people moan on Saturday because we turned a pass down & started again from the back! That's how its turned out now! People moaning because we're not giving the ball away or hoofing? My only concern is Diame & Tom playing together! But as for evading poor performances? Well bring it on if we're getting that return! We're unbeaten at home & weve concede against Rhodes & Austin.
You see it's like this, I could understand the pundits of this world, the Stan Collymore's et al, being stunned if Bruce got the sack right now, as they'd have nothing whatsoever to go on other than our current league placing and our points total, but you, you've witnessed the last 18 months of ****ing ridiculous decisions made by Bruce which have amounted to stagnating a complete squad of truly talented footballers. So seriously, what's your excuse for not seeing the signs of a manager going backwards at a rate of knots? I'm guessing blind optimism.
like I've said " be careful what you wish for? " we could get done in both our away games or we could easily win both? We'll be where we deserve to be in January, so let's see what happens then eh? No ones sacking SB anytime soon I don't think?
The people who want a change haven't come to this conclusion in the last 9 games! This is from watching us week after week playing absolute dross! Coupled with Steve Bruce making baffling shocking tactical mistakes week after week. He attracts all these players because he's a nice guy, but you can't manage a club by been a nice guy all the time and unfortunately he doesn't know when to be a manager and when to be there mate. When we have maybe scraped into the playoffs and got knocked out of them you lot can say well let's give him another chance! if I performed like him in my job for the last 18 months I wouldn't have a bloody job!
I've already stated in numerous posts that my ideal candidate would be Tony Pennock, unfortunately that's about as unlikely to happen as AA giving Bruce his P45. We won't be where WE deserve to be in January, we'll be where AA deserves to be if he doesn't take action with Bruce, which I predict will be mid table with many of our better players begging their agents to find them an exit route if he simply allows things to continue as they are. Oh and even if we get the full six points from our away games Bruce will be merely papering over the substantial cracks unless he has a complete rethink of his management strategy.
I've had a great time since SB arrived & I won't be shouting for the axe to fall after 9 games of a new season! You need to look at the work he's done whilst our idiot owner has been talking all sorts of ****e? I do honestly think he'll get us back up!
"We're gutted we are fourth. We should be higher," said Akpom. "There have been a few frustrating games. Our main aim is to get promotion this season. "This team is fourth and we haven't played our best football yet. We are still learning from our mistakes but we will click. The best is yet to come from us. "The little things need sorting out. Sometimes we lack concentration. For example, the set-piece that we conceded (against Blackburn) could have been avoided. We can only learn from that. "I am sure we will analyse it at training next week and learn from it. And try to improve. "We are not far away. Every game will see us get better. We haven't played as well as we can. We have potential Premier League players here." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Chub...tory-27877961-detail/story.html#ixzz3n312zSU0
Saturday was the first time that I started to wonder whether Bruce was the right person. Too many times have we seen this negativity stance adopted by the team trying to hold on to a lead rather than trying to put the game to bed. That fallback approach is understandable when you are the away team but not at home surely? Our squad are the strongest on paper in the league. Most of our subs on our bench on Saturday would have walked straight into that starting line-up of Blackburn. I don't buy this "Championship is tough" line either. It is if your squad consists only of "run of the mill Championship" players but most of our first team would still consider themselves to be of Premier League quality. What really pisses me off about that performance on Saturday is that Bruce shouting at them from the touchline with his red face seemed to make not one difference to any one individuals performance or attitude. The players need a good kick up the arse from a Manager they have some respect for. Yes they've had their wages cut, yes they are playing in a league they don't want to be in, but so are the fans and the fans are having to pay more than last season to watch the team going through the motions. Bruce Out!
To SB's great credit he has assembled a squad that should be favourites to win most of their games this season, so the position we're in now isn't that surprising. The trouble is those players have to not only beat the opposition, but win despite his and Phelan's negative tactics. It's frustrating but our coaching staff don't believe in their own players enough to take the shackles off.
