Brucey has done a great job for us, but, in the last 12 months has taken us backwards in the league.
He got us to Wembley and earned us a Europa place. "Get in there we all thought". Sadly, he ****ed that up as well.

I wanted Brownie out when he had a **** record and I want the same for Bruce if we do not score or gain a point in the next 2 games.

Before you blame injuries for the poor run of form, you might like to know that we had far to many injuries at SAFC when piesy was in charge. If you go back to Birmingham City, you will find stories of injury after injury within the squad...

We came to the conclusion it was due to training methods, or lack of them which might be more appropriate.

Afterall, what can you expect from a manager who resembles the marshmallow man from ghostbusters? Take a look at all of the top managers. They keep their bodies in good maintenance and for me, that is the bare minimum standard that a premier league class manager should be able to maintain.

Whatever it was was probably responsible for Man Utd's injury crisis this season as well.

It is interesting that Sunderland have had no injuries whatsoever since Bruce left, especially not Fletcher, Brown, Alvarez...etc etc.

There has only been 1 game where Wes Brown was not included in the squad this season and we are half way through the season. Fletcher has made 18 appearances so far this season including international appearances and was injured whilst on international duty. Alvarez picked up a serious injury, not a muscular/training type injury.

Where did I say that? It was a jape at my own expense, wtf is wrong with you? If you have read any of my posts you would realise that I agree with you! I already had the word on Agnew leaving us (come and get me was the call!) and I think it will be the catalyst for change we need - Agnew is a good lad but his main credentials have always been as a one-on-one coach and that shows in our team performances - and, to be honest, he has failed to bring on some speculative players Bruce (and him) brought in. Calm down and read a tad more.

Sorry mate, you obviously know your football. You led me astray when you highlighted my last sentance which left me with the impression that you thought setting a poor physical example was secondary to apparent experience.

Brown and Fletcher have been included in most of our games this season. Fletcher is about as fit as he has ever been, so I really don't understand why you quote these players.

I might be wrong as I don't study Hull City closely enough, however, most of the injuries that we had at SAFC under the guidance of Bruce, were muscular injuries (hammys) and 'knocks picked up in training'. I've followed Sunderland for 50 years and I can count on one hand the number of seasons where we had so many hammys and knocks.

I looked into Birminghams history and they too had an 'unfortunate' if you prefer, number of muscular injuries whilst under Bruce. I now come onto your forum and hear that you team is decimated by injuries. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe you are unlucky?

Not to mention your coach has jumped ship and Bruce has came out in public and demanded an apology from one of, if not, your longest serving players and you sit 2nd of bottom of the league.

I've seen stuff like this before up here.

If you actually do your due diligence, you will see that Brown was injured for most of his entire time under Bruce (multiple injuries) yet has come back stronger at the age of 35 and played for most of our games in the last 18 months... There was talk of him retiring during the Bruce era. Fletcher had an unusual back problem yet is now as fit as ever...

You don't have to listen to what I say, however my experience suggests that the training methods of Bruce led to a higher number of injuries than what we had in the past and the present.

Do you think I'm coming on here talking about Bruces training methods and injuries for the hell of it? It's based on experience of having watched him manage our club.

All of our injured players got injured during games, none of them got injured training, obviously the way they train can affect things, but they all got injured right in front of us.

I am guessing here, I doubt Bruce has a massive input to training? He may oversee it but the training is up to the coaches assistant manages etc etc?

It must be a coincidence then that massive injury lists seem to occur under Bruce at most clubs he has managed?

For what it's worth, I don't think it's just Bruce's training methods that cause injuries, he will also rush players back before full fitness which usually results in the player getting injured again, but even worse.

It's a good excuse for Bruce when things start to go wrong though - "Wu got loads of injuries, it's not my fault we can't win".

I also see he's starting on the "Wu only Hull, what do we expect?". He used to say that about Sunderland as well.

You're talking as if Bruce left last season and coincidentally both have now got better.

In post #367 you state “It is interesting that Sunderland have had no injuries whatsoever since Bruce left, especially not Fletcher, Brown, Alvarez...etc etc.”, then in post #369 you stated “Who mentioned this season? I thought Bruce left you a few years ago.” So if you weren’t referring to this season in post #367, which one since Bruce left Sunderland are you referring to? Bearing in mind, Alverez who you specifically mention signed at the beginning of this season.

Anyway, yes we have had injuries since Bruce left, injuries are part and parcel of the game. However, we have never had injuries on the scale we had when Bruce was in charge since he left. I for one, do not think this is a coincidence.
