Lose interest in racing, I highly doubt it, lose interest in the total **** that surrounds it, I certainly hope so. Hopefully he's realised that they need him a hell of a lot more than he needs them (the media).

Great lap - strange reaction! Only he knows what is going on inside his head, but his body language was very similiar to the Japan conference and photos! Hope he has a great race and I hope it is a Mclaren 1 - 2 in any order? I wonder whether JB resigning has caused a few issues - maybe all is not as it looks from the outside?
Yeah he has had a very tough season, he was expecting a lot more in 2011.
So this body language is very acceptable, he will become more balanced towards the bottom end of the season if he can repeat these kinds of laps.

Very unusual to see the polesitter showing no emotion after qualifying. It came across on-screen as if he'd lost interest in the sport, but I doubt this is the case. In the press conference I thought he was going to break down - I hope for his sake, Button and Vettel don't finish ahead of him tomorrow.
I think we'll see a very quiet Lewis for the rest of the season.
He wants to concentrate on his driving only as he knows this had been a year of many mistakes for him. Hopefully a couple of wins and poles before the seasons end will give him the confidence and personal boost he needs and quiten down the hacks you have been revelling in his downfall.
I remeber Senna (this is not a Hamilton/Senna comparison) being very melancholy at certain times of his career (see latter part of 1989) when even a pole, win and dominant race could not bring a smile to him.
I'd imagine a win tomorrow would bring a huge emotinal outburst, hopefully in the right direction, but I could see him going mental and fighting back against the media!

It was indeed a slightly odd reaction, given the circumstances and Red Bulls near total domination of qualifying for basically 2 years it was a potential opportunity to really celebrate and let some frustration go.
I'm hoping it was a calculated reaction and he just wants to cut the bs and focus on what he does best - driving fast and winning races. I'm sure a win on merit tomorrow will see a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.
Also although today was one of the few times this season Vettel hasn't got pole I feel it was one of his most impressive qualifying sessions this season. Clearly McLaren have the better of RB for pace yet Vettel was able to extract enough pace from the car to split them.

It just looked as if Vettel and Button had kidnapped his dog or something equally ridiculous. I've never seen the polesitter be so emotionless.

You know what i find funny? Some of the people who were slagging him off are now singing his praises. Are you guys really that fickle? I'm sticking with my views, whatever happens. Still don't like him, still think Button is now better than him.
Why do we need to make way more threads than necessary about a subject that has already been over-analysed time and again? Seriously, why not make a billion threads about every time Alonso blows his nose?

He should be. Clean side of the track, red bull alongside, they have suspect starts, if Hamilton isn't leading after turn 1, he can't drive.
