Match Preview;
After a thoroughly heart-wrenching Saturday afternoon, having regrouped after falling 0-4 down to miss a last minute penalty and throw away a point, we now have to pick ourselves up and go to in-form Bristol City.
City have won their last eight in a row, and in all they have not lost since going to Leeds on November the 24th. This impressive run has seen them climb to 6th in the league, after not having an amazing start to the year. There is no obvious star goalscorer in their side with Famara Diedhiou their top scorer on 8 goals, but they have a number of players from all positions who have chipped in with 4/5/6 goals each. Here's hoping we can be the ones to end their impressive run, but massive respect to anyone heading to Bristol on what will likely be a freezing cold Tuesday night.
From the official;
QPR have an opportunity to build on Saturday’s second-half performance against Birmingham but can expect a difficult match against the league’s in-form side Bristol City.
After an unacceptable first period, which saw the R’s 4-1 down at half-time, Steve McClaren’s team rallied and went extremely close to securing a dramatic comeback on the weekend.
However, Lee Camp’s late penalty save from Nahki Wells meant Birmingham took the three points and condemned the R’s to their fourth straight league defeat.
With games coming thick and fast, Rangers have a chance to put things right at Ashton Gate but Bristol City have won their last eight fixtures in all competitions and that remarkable run of form has seen them claim a playoff position.
Lee Johnson’s side are 6th in the table and coming off the back of an impressive victory at Ewood Park where they were 1-0 winners.
The two teams are more than familiar with each other having met on 77 different occasions but Rangers have not beat the Robins on their home turf for over 16 years.
In the reverse fixture at Loftus Road, QPR were on the end of a 3-0 defeat but both teams have significantly improved since that game which was played at the end of August 2018.
Come on YOU SUPER HOOPSA!
