Never be sorry to support your own team mate, I'm not, I'm bloody proud but allow me to say, I'm glad our first game is up against you, a class outfit, with good players and manager, I/we (My fellow supporters) are enabled to see how far we have progressed over last season, we all believe we have, we will find out. Apart from your games against us, good luck to to you all.
Great article. Perhaps someone could mention to Captain Jackboot that Phillips is doing his job with the sideways passing - the self same passing that the demented barsteward thinks is KP's failing, as evidenced in the article .... "The holding midfielder will sit and protect, but also act as a catalyst for starting attacking phases, recycling possession and spraying passes out wide to the wing-backs and wide forwards. This is the role Phillips made his own last season". No doubt the authors of the article will be added to his hate list.
Makes me laugh when people slag sideways passing. Ray Wilkins was a legend for Chelsea, Man Utd and England and was known as the crab. Ngolo Kante reputed to be the best DM in the world does the most sideways passing. All part of the bigger plan
Leeds will score a big fat 0 so best you can hope for is 0-0 but I think B.City have goals in them they should get at least 4 if co-co is bang on form But cos I dont want to upset anybody I will go for just 2-0 because im feeling kind
Only takes one injury to cooper or white and we’re ****ed. Seems daft to me to go into a season with so little cover at CB. Flying out to Mexico tomorrow so will be desperately searching for a bar that might be showing the game. Not sure my skygo will work out there.
Disagree. Regular 3 will come out of Cooper, White, Berra & Davies. We also have fill-ins like Ayling & Phillips. And not forgetting the u23 option of Struijk, and to a lesser extent, Hosannah. Too soon yet for Casey, but what do I know? There's also a left field option in Kenneh. 16yo midfielder who came on as a CB in pre-season & looked like he played there all of his life. I'm very confident that these options will not only see us through, but blossom doing it.
Who told you Davis was a LB? He has certainly played in that position. CB & LW too. You are aware that under Bielsaball they are encouraged to play in more than one position. As for senior specialist CBs, do you mean: * Cooper, who started out as a LB, and gets slated by most whether good or bad at CB? Senior specialist? * Berra, who until last season was a RB? Senior? * White, our newbie CB? Specialist? * Phillips, who up until last season was an attacking midfielder converted to a DM, yet got more CB game time than Berra? Neither? * Ayling, who has had more game time at CB than Berra or Phillips? Senior? * Struijk, who may surprise you yet? Specialist? * Casilla, who's more of a DM than a CB? Senior fecking idiot? Go on, you tell me who your two senior specialist CBs are. I can only see one that ticks both boxes. But ask yourself, if Bielsa had listened to you last season: * Would Phillips have been a revelation, or yet another attacking midfielder? * Would Berra have been a failed RB, or a valuable contributor? * Would Dallas have been able to demonstrate that he's a better RB than RW? * Would Shackleton still be waiting on his breakthrough in midfield, or a spanking revelation at RB? The list goes on. You seem to want orthodoxy when Bielsa's unorthodox approach has revealed hidden jewels. So I guess a man with his credentials, experience, abilities and track record will need to prove himself to you again? Really?
Two specialist CB, Cooper & White, I counted White as senior as I guessed he would be 1st choice ahead of Struijik but Ok you can be pedantic and just say Cooper. None of the others are. Yes Bielsa encourages players to play in more than one position but doesn't mean they're all good at it. His words at the press conference of wanting 18 players, which for me in a 46 game season is risky.
