What will it take?
If we get van Gaal and our primary targets so our team on paper looks much improved will teams feel beating in the tunnel again or do we need to start hammering sides early in the season to send out a little reminder.
Liverpool of course were a laughing stock for some 20 years prior to this season. They got their fear factor back with impressive attacking displays so it can be done relatively easily in the right set up.
We have 4 games left. Personally I would play the kids but perhaps going full pelt and looking to batter sides would work better for us. it would help close the horrible chapter in the clubs history that was the 'Moyes Error' and raise confidence for the summer and next season.
Of course in some games we are still feared. Arsenal are terrified of any United side, regardless of manager of line up ( weve seen some comical lines ups v Arsenal and still won, even thrashing them ) but others have taken full advantage of the weak United.
In all honesty I think many teams will be far more cautious against us next season as they wont know what to expect. Come at us and under someone like van Gaal who wants the opponent come at you will take advantage of it. Sit back and we will have to show we can grind out wins like the United we all know.

And something about Arsenals "knowing it" when United passed them on the way up the table
