Interesting media comments about Boruc from Koeman, if correctly quoted:

"I am happy about the goalkeepers that we have."

"We have four goalkeepers – we have Fraser, we have Kelvin as the second goalkeeper and we have two young ones."

"In my opinion that’s enough and he’s ending a contract. He doesn’t have a future [at Saints] and it’s normal you give the future to the rest of the goalkeepers."

In my opinion, this isn't about ability. Even the most pessimistic of Boruc supporters would say he's a very good second to Forster. Myself, I'd say he's better in some respects, poorer in others, and it very much evens out. However, where Frazer scores heavily over Artur is in attitude, and a willingness to improve, in my opinion. Artur is over-confident to the point of arrogance. Frazer is a player, confident in his own ability, yet humble enough to know he has to improve. I have never had that sense with Artur, much as I admire his skills as a keeper.

Besides, AFCB get a great keeper out of this.

I don't know about Boruc's attitude. Maybe it is bad, maybe notsobad. I think Koeman's just telling it like it is.

I think it is just a matter of timing. Boruc at his age probably is on the decline a bit. And so he won't be extended a contract. Thus, Saints turned to the future and signed Forster. You sign Forster for that much money, he's your starter. Boruc, even if he was 100% into being a backup would likely leave for a starting job next year, and that's not being particularly selfish, it's what any player would do.

If Forster gets hurt, you might as well see if your young players have what it takes because even if they can't start, they'll still be around for a couple of years as backups and Boruc won't be. It was inevitable from the moment Forster got signed. Boruc was last choice regardless of his performance level. And sending him out on loan where he can start was what best for both him and the club.

Ok... is that bad attitude, or bad decision? Seems to me that he came in and made a decision early. One can argue if that is right or wrong and without other information, I don't see that as bad attitude, but can understand if people see it as a bad decision.

Completely agree. If anything it just shows strong, decisive leadership.

Don't think its so much attitude as ego. He made a decision and wasn't happy a player didn't agree with it and said player was blacklisted.

End of day it doesn't matter as Boruc and southampton's time together are over.

Some might say unfortunate as if It been handled differently the club could have had two top class goalies vying for number 1
