Chelsea are without forwards Alvaro Morata and Pedro, who were both sent off during the FA Cup penalty-shootout win over Norwich on Wednesday. Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are also absent due to respective hamstring injuries. However, Antonio Conte has confirmed that Ross Barkley will be included in the squad for the first time. Brighton will again be without Steve Sidwell who fractured his ankle while recovering from back surgery. Brighton have lost seven of their last encounters with us, so I’m hoping for a win today. KTBFFH
Didn't realise Cahill and Fabregas were missing too, could be a struggle here with the 120 in midweek. Courtois (if fit) Moses Azpi Christensen Alonso Kanye Drinkwater Willian Hazard Barkley Not got that many options especially quite a few getting full games in midweek, be another tired display.
Actually that might well be the starting line up but I’d imagine Barkley might well start as sub. We need to get our zip back and double quick.
have a feeling, that Tony has knackered this team with playing 10 men for most if not all games. Tis is the time to drop points typically when in 4 games. So won't be surprised if it all goes downhill from here
Alonso getting beaten for fun against mighty BHA. Willy bails him with an excellent save. Another corner and Alonso does a smalling on Duffy Pull Alonso now
One legged Willian more effective than Cescy any given day.. Will at least adds solidity and Cescy does precious nothing
FFS Jelato has Alonso on toast.. Crossbar bails Alonso this time.. Alonso cannot defend against farking BHA!!
How in this farking world anyone can Defend Defender Alonso?? People who do have no clue about Footy let alone Defending This is Alonso's performance after 7 days rest. Willian played 2 hours footy on Wednesday and ran himself to ground. Alonso has no athleticism and even Jelato can beat him for fun. Moreno has nothing on Alonso .. FACT!! No wonder Sandro is quoted 65M pounds. As soon as Alonso was subbed at 75 mins all the Albion's threat were clipped. That could / should have been easily 5-4 to BHA thanks to Alonso.. Going fwd Kenedy on, please Tony!!
Much better energy today although we did give the ball away too easily, Willian and Hazard the stars plus some ungainly eccentric goalkeeeping from Willy. Bakayoko again disappointing but Batshit did better in his back-heeled assist for Willians pile driver.
please log in to view this image What's the matter, short of a scapegoat because Cescady Wescady isn't playing? Alonso was the red headed step child instead today eh? Why must you target and villify a single player every game and making stupid ****ing statements? How could it have been 5 to Brighton, they only had 3 shots on target all game ffs...idiot.
There were none of those in the game, for either team.....next...... Chick is Amy jackson btw, British actress
.......hot totty with a fine pair of Bristols. We may yet meet the Bristol Titties in the League Cup Final.
And if Alonso is missing next game, someone else will get the treatment. Alonso looked nothing but leg weary, just like when Dave had a very poor patch for the same reason, Conte has played him too much. Alonso has been a model of consistency all season, regularly mentioned as one of our best. Ridiculous to talk about him as a weakness. Brighton did perk up after we mashed them first 15 mins, and they had a couple of unlucky incidents. That said, we controlled them pretty easily and 4-0 is about right, maybe 4-1 . Of our fringe players Bakayoko was steadier but didn't give enough, Michy looked much livlier but got dreadful service from midfield and too many dodgy passes from Hazard. (Hazard was good apart from his passing which was lousy). Moses fed off scraps all game but did really well, Willian looked interested, Rudiger was average as was Dave.Christensen never really got going and Luiz did quite well for his brief show. Great pass from Musonda, should play more as should Ampadu and Kenedy. Conte needs to open his eyes and stop being so tentative.
