People who ran it run 149 now so its the best in brid at the mo. There are pictures all over the wall of when camilla went there and they call you sir for some reason
Jacks is the best in my opinion and at a very good price compared to others and where most locals go.
Can't beat Jack's for value. Jack's, Oggy's in Brett Street and 149 are my choices when I fancy fish and chips.
When Camilla asked for a portion of chips on her visit to 149 the lass on the counter responded "Do you want scraps with that love." Classy!
A very poor game with a ref. who lost control very early on.Brid. were obviously up for it and were very physical they had one or two older players who were constantly niggling and fouling, our young lads lost their composure and in the first half were completely out muscled.One horrendous two footed tackle didn't even get a yellow card. Brid. were down to 10 men during the second half when the referee finally took some action but the damage had been done by then and although we could and probably should have scored Brid. looked dangerous from set pieces and could well have added to their tally.
No one really stood out for us it was a classic case of men against boys, hopefully the boys will have learned something last night.
For quality fish and chips Pride of Brid. every time for me with the bonus that its practically on my door step.

Town beat Hull City youngsters
Bridlington Town rounded off their pre-season programme when they beat a youthful Hull City XI at Queensgate on Tuesday evening.
Town started well, with Ombeni Ruhanduke striking the post from distance early on, and they took the lead on 17 minutes when Ryan Nicholls nodded in from close range after a left-wing corner from Will Waudby was flicked on at the near post.
It was a feisty encounter and after a number of flashpoints, the Tigers pulled level on 37 minutes when Ellis Barkworth was left unmarked at the back post and steered a diving header past Adam Nicholson.
Half time arrived early as Hull midfielder Joe Pugh suffered a nasty injury and the action was halted early to allow him to be treated and eventually stretchered off.
The Premier League youngsters struggled to get going after the break and it was no surprise when Town found a winner. Duka’s first effort was blocked but he poked the rebound home.
Tempers continued to flare and the home side’s skipper Tom Fleming was ordered to be substituted by the referee after another altercation, but The Seasiders were hardly troubled as they wrapped up a winning end to pre-season.

They sound like a team full of Pulisbags. Grown men injuring kids in a pre season? Shame on them. Hope they get their come uppance.
1) The fish n chips were poor compared with how they used to be. Shame as the chippy opposite the ground is handy. 149 or Pride from now on for me.
2) The game was ok for what it was. Our kids will learn from it. Thankfully it was only a fitness excercise.

Did any of the main youngsters (Clark, Clappison etc) play or was it the U18s?
Very sad news from Brid on the Fish and chip front. Oggy's on Brett Street has either closed or it is closing this week. As I am not there I can't confirm which, but either way it is a shame. The owners are retiring and had planned to do so last year, but they haven't been able to pass the business to a successor and the shop will close. Much like Tony's did on Lansdowne Road; all the gear still there but no-one to run it. I do hope this is not a sign of the demise of the local seaside chippie.
Shame. Grew up down the same street as Oggy and his brother.
Though when it is open I tend to go to North Beach Fisheries most nowadays. A bit dearer than elsewhere but really good fish and chips.
I'll try it. Oggy's was just a walk from family though, so very convenient. Always liked Jack's too before it moved, only been once since and the fish was still perfect. What's the haddock like at NBF?
The haddock at NBF is excellent. Best in Brid in my opinion. Great to sit outside on a sunny day eating it whilst looking at the beach and bay.
