He'd have been one of the best strikers we ever had if he didn't have Quinn and Phillips to overcome.
Its nice he wants to come back to his roots, it would bring a good vibe to the place having one of our players back that experienced a winning mentality for us. It can only be a positive for me.
Spot on, his experience and career should be an inspiration to any 3rd division player

I cant even be arsed checking google but if my memory serves me right, he can in for Phillips for a few months when he got injured and still managed to bang about 15 goals in.
As soon as Phillips was back he was bavk warming the bench

If he has the relevant qualifications I'd like to think he would be a welcome addition to the youth set up, he will certainly have plenty of experience to pass onto the young uns.

I remember him scoring a goal at the SOL, he got the ball somewhere around the centre circle, he raced forward and beat the keeper and slotted it home. Wish I could remember who it was against.

Always remember the Everton away game did he get 3 or 4

Great player in his first spell with us. Not so good second time around though.
Just because he is considered a good player by many doesn’t mean that he will be a good coach.
If he does come back I hope that it’s because those that interviewed and assessed him saw that he has demonstrated his ability to do the job.
Remember that one of the many reasons why we are in this tinpot league is because we have employed people who weren’t capable. Paul Reid, Tony Coton and Richard Hill anyone?

Yeah i agree, i wouldn't have a clue what coaching qualifications he has, and thats what's more important.
Sentimentally itd be nice to have him around the place again reminding youngsters and players that can't be arsed what potential we once and still do have though

I remember him coming off the bench at Roker to get 2 goals in a 3-2 win against Huddersfield. Great header at the front post for the first then couldnt see the second as I was only 14 at the back of the Fulwell end. Happy days. Cheers stick man. :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

Was at that game. ****ing freezing. Class game but got a ****ing parking ticket outside Goodson and nearly got stuck in the snow on the A66 on the way back.

employ him if he is a good coach no other reason. Unless he wants to work for 6 months unpaid to prove how good he is. I dont give a **** what a good prospect he was for us, he is a rich man, lets see what he can do
