Northeast England is a Labour 'Safe seat'. Conservative vote in my constituency made its biggest jump since before the war in the last election. 30% of the vote. Pretty much unheard of. We don't like Corbyn around these parts. The working class lads don't feel like they have anything in common with Jezza and the socialists.Oh ffs.
Aye the Labour membership rocketed when Corbyn took over. The right on studenty types, tree hugger, beard touting skinny jean wearing hipsters flocked to Labour by the thousands. Labour was on the crest of a wave. The Red tsunami if you will.

Labour held Stoke on Trent but their vote was down over 2%. How can this be with Jezza at the helm?

Labour lost Copeland to the Tories. A safe Labour seat for decades and a massive 7 point swing in the vote.

Labour lost votes in 4 of those byelections. In the 2 regions that Labour made gains, the Conservatives made even bigger gains than them.
