Yes! Immense frustration.

Sadly we are used to losing at present but this was a derby which we came into on the back of two exceptional wins. Did that raise out hopes too high?

I love watching QPR be it live, highlights or internet clips but yesterday I went to bed with QPR in my frustrated head as my last thought and woke re-living the misery in losing to a small town in Hounslow.

Tramore is, of course, correct with his reality check. We are much better off than anyone imagined we would be at this stage. That ticks box in my head BUT my heart / but is left churning at that performance.

Going to move on now and not think about this again until tomorrow morning when my Bees colleague who was at the game will be eagerly waiting for me!

I‘d present him with a trophy for winning their cup final.

We are at least 2 seasons behind them in the way to operate but we're in a far better position than most of us thought we would be....

I think the gap is far bigger, the Brentford model was the reason MW departed the club as he vetoed a number of potential signings in his last season there and demanded that he had full control over future signings. His management of the club that season resulted in them having to sell a number of players to avoid FFP penalties. Looking at their team yesterday how many of their players had you heard of before they joined Brentford? Their recruitment system targets lower league players across Europe and we need to have something similar in place but I haven't seen any evidence with what we have at present. I reckon 4-5 years if we are fortunate...

Lumley and Scowen have closed thier Twitter accounts and now this:

Tony Fernandes
@tonyfernandes
Having closed Facebook time is coming to shut down Twitter. Bene such a fan but to much negativity and falsehood and anger. It’s been an amazing ride. Feel much better now not on Facebook and am sure will be even better without Twitter. Social media has become an angry place.

QPR idiots take a bow!

While I can only condemn anyone who tags Lumley to dish out abuse, Fernandes is a complete tool. Bloke should have been embarrassed into silence years ago.

TF is an attention seeker and this statement is to get attention. He wants all the “please don’t Tony” tweets. I wish he would get off Twitter because he talks crap on there as well.

agree I wouldn't care but sadly Tony needs the attention these days now he's not on SSN.

Did anyone notice Amos near the end of the game when we attacked and he only had to move 3 feet to get the ball and just stood there... bloody derby and cant be bothered to give 100% is sad. Don't get me started on Eze. :emoticon-0145-shake
Yes was screaming at the tele on that very point and couldn't be bothered chasing back after he lost it very poor attitude not sure what he gives that Scowen doesn't apart from being sent off of course(ref yesterday would never of sent anyone off)

Can't believe some of the negativity on here......

Beaten by a better side today who had an eleven minute purple patch helped by some poor defending....definate improvement 2nd half but left too much to do...

They will be top 6 come May.....

Keep the faith...

I think we've had this conversation before.

Whilst I take all your points, this is a message board and surely we're entitled to give our opinion on what was done wrong as well as the positives?
As soon as the team was announced some of us thought that it was the wrong selections.
Warburton continues to play Eze out of position (who then gets criticism on here) and plays others out of position too.
He had to move Cameron at half time because of this error.
By then we were three ****ing goals down!!

I agree that we're about where we should be, but I actually think there's potential to be higher up the table, if only Warburton would stop making poor decisions.

I've noticed that about Amos a few times. He often seems to jog back when we lose the ball and, when we have it, he doesn't always seem bothered to get into space to make himself available to receive it. He can look quite good on the ball at times but, too much for me, he seems to let the game pass him by and doesn't impose himself on it (something like Freeman versus Leeds a while back would be nice... but a big ask).

And another thing....

We generally seems to set ourselves up, at least partially, as a zonal defence at corners and set pieces. I haven't recorded the stats so I can't say it's 100% zonal but it is often enough. However, some of our defenders do pick up attackers but then there's a strong zonal element "layered" on top of that. It seems a sort of hybrid. (Or perhaps it's either just a poor zonal set up, or a poor man marking set up, because it can appear neither one thing or the other!)

Whatever we're trying to do, as we have the worst defensive record from set pieces in the division, I think I can safely say:

IT AIN'T WORKING.

For the third Brentford goal, where the free kick was lofted to our back post and headed back across goal to the goal scorer, you can't say we lost their man (actually, their MEN) at the back post because we NEVER HAD THEM PROPERLY MARKED IN THE FIRST PLACE. When I played in goal - many, many years ago - I'd be screaming at my defenders to get touch tight to the attackers and God help them if they failed to do so. It may be an obvious thing to say but we lack that sort of organisation and leadership.

I was screaming at Manning about that 3rd goal as it looked in his zone and he let their man get behind him. Likewise for the free kick that lead to their first, and at him seeming to be a yard behind and a foot under them the whole game when they had the ball.

Totally agree. It's like we are not allowed to criticise anything anymore?
