Hello Gooners,

Looking like a deal is being done to get Rodgers in to replace AW this summer. From a tin pot club in a crap league to one of the top clubs in Europe, bit too big a step up IMHO.

Who'd want to manage a team whose main ambition is finishing 4th and winning a cup every few years?

I can see Rodgers leaving for a club like Liverpool or Man Utd but that's unlikely to happen any time soon as they're actually doing well. Arsenal on the other hand...

It's a fair point m8 but he'd get a stiffer competition if he managed an English L1 side than he does up in bonnie Scotland. IMHO :emoticon-0110-tongu

Arsenal are 25 points behind Man City <rofl>

And it'll likely be 28 points after Wednesday...

The EPL? Currently one of the least competitive leagues in Europe.

Will be interesting to see @cini65 respose to this and his ‘anybody could do a better job than Wenger’ stance.

Brendan is a sack of ****e. Wenger is a sack of ****e. No way would I want Rodgers coming to Arsenal but I similarly don't see him doing any worse than Wenger. The way see it at the moment, we have no manager doing anything of note. The players go on the pitch and play for themselves. We beat a lot of teams simply because our individuals are better than theirs. We could put anyone as our manager and we'd do similarly to how we are now. There are quite a lot of managers out there who, just by simply having some input, would make us better. There are a few out there who'd make us significantly better. There are one or two out there who'd make us incredible.

Rodgers sits in the first camp of being someone who'd do just as well as Wenger (ie. ****e). And if that's all our board wants, then go for it... at least he'd get paid far less than Wenger and we could save some money,
