I think Eddie loves a buck. His problem is finding a draw card who can sell ppvs but who poses the least threat. Vlad is a huge threat but a major money maker, Haye a definate threat and a good draw too. Below are some comments from some Sky blokes on a Parker clash.

"With Klitschko being the standout heavyweight for more than a decade now it would be exciting to see how our young and exciting heavyweight standout Anthony Joshua would go against him."

"But after watching Parker there, and how hungry he is, and how ambitious he is, and how spiteful he looks, it's a very interesting division at the moment. Klitschko or Parker ... it's mouth-watering."

I can't see Parker being a major ppv person at the moment. Joshua will fill the arena, (he'd do that fighting anyone) but I think Eddie would also want to sell the bout to as many home viewers as possible, and Parker just doesn't fit the bill at the moment. But I'm hoping like crazy that Parker gets the fight though. Joshua should be too good for him, but it would certainly be something to see these two young guns clash.
 
It looks as though it won't be Joshua v Haye. The latter has stated that he's set a date for his next bout. December 10, but as yet he has no opponent. Some are suggesting that Haye might pay Fres Oquendo to step away from his mandated clash with Lucas Browne for the vacant Regular WBA belt, and take his place. But that would be a stupid move on the part of Oquendo and "Big Daddy." Both men are only 12 rounds away from winning a title, so why fight Haye? And If Browne has anything working between his ears, he'll know he's better off with Oquendo.

After taking two soft options since his return, it's hard to see Haye fighting anyone ranked near him. A beating at this stage of his comeback would be a disaster for him.

THE FRIDAY FIGHT. MIKE TYSON v. TYRELL BIGGS.

In late 1987 Iron Mike climbed into the ring in Atlantic City for the defence of his WBA, WBC & IBF titles. His opponent being he Olympic Heavyweight Gold Medalist of the Los Angeles Games, Tyrell Biggs. Although going into the bout with a massive height and reach disadvantage, Tyson started at about the 1-7 odds. Before the fight, Biggs had been scathing in his opinion of Iron Mike. The champ entered the ring intent on inflicting some serious pain.

"He's never fought anyone like me, someone with a strong jab who can box and is not going in there just to survive. Do you think I'm going to walk into the roundhouse punches of a guy who's 5-8?" - Tyrell Biggs before the fight.

There's been a rally interesting heavyHe stated. "weight signing by Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing, that could see a US based blaster do some fighting in the UK. The Cuban born and former interim WBA Heavyweight Champion, Luis "King Kong" Ortiz, has bought out his Golden Boy contract and jumped on the Fast Eddie band wagon. Although he has some years on the clock, there are people in the US who believe that even at 37, the big left hander has a serious place in the big boy's arena. The No 1 ranked WBA combatant's record stands at 25-0-0 with 22KOs.

According to Team Ortiz, the Carlos Takam bout set down for next month now looks as though it's toast. Ortiz's manager Juan Jimenez has stated that they probably have a bigger fight in play. He went on to say. " Eddie is working on that right now. We don’t know yet who we’re fighting but we’re definitely fighting in Monaco."

P.S. According to ESPN's Dan Raphael, Ortiz paid US$1,000,000 to Golden Boy for his freedom.

Interesting sidelight to the proposed Joshua - Klitschko bout. Eddie Hearn in an interview after the Bellew - Flores face off mentioned the possibility that the Klitschko camp might actually be looking at a Klitschko - Browne bout for either the WBO or WBA titles if Fury is stripped. Maybe there are quite a lot of camps (including the Parker team) who are sweating on Fury losing his belts soon. We could end up with Parker - Ruiz for the WBO and Klitschko - Browne for the WBA. The only mega fight though is the Joshua - Klitschko bout. So what does the latter do? Take the huge bucks for Joshua, or the less profitable option of an easier title?
 
FRIDAY FIGHT. LENNOX LEWIS v. FRANK BRUNO.

After an ongoing battle with the WBC, the Champion Riddick Bowe, his manager Rock Newman and Lennox Lewis' manager Frank Maloney, Bowe called a press conference on December 14, 1992. There had been a problem coming to terms for their impending clash. The money issue couldn't be settled, so the WBC mandated that if Bowe couldn't or wouldn't get it done, they would strip him of the title and award it to Lewis. At the press conference, the then reigning WBC Heavyweight Champion dumped his belt in a garbage bin and announced. "If Lewis wants the belt, he has to get it out of the garbage." Lennox Lewis took the WBC championship without having to lace on a glove. 10 months later he'd make his first defence, against Bruno. It would be the first time two Brits would face off for the heavyweight crown since Bob Fitzsimmons took the belt from the Irishman Peter Maher on February 21,1896 in Langtry Texas.

Yep he got hit in the chin too many times Ron. Four of his five losses came at the hands of serious fighters though, and all of them in title fights. Twice to Iron Mike and once each to Lennox Lewis and Tim Witherspoon. I'm gunna check out Bruno's WBC Title win over Oliver McCall, the man who beat Lewis.

I'm no HAYE fan but he would demolish Bellew within 3 rounds.

Bellew beats a couple of nobody's at Cruiser and he thinks he's back in Rocky again. Shut that mouth up and behave like the rest of our world champions FFS.

Looks like Haye might choose an easy pay day as opposed to a heavyweight tilt. Only negotiating factor is weight.

Bang on. Even Bellew's biggest fan must get embarrassed by him, and his antics last night won't help him to lose the Tony Bellend moniker either. It did seem a tad staged though, happens now more often these sort of call outs...

With respect to his talent I view him as a very limited boxer to have a world title to his name. Does ok in a pub brawl against similarly skilled men but he has no boxing brain or defence which you'd want to see in a title holder. Flores was there for the pay day, no heart or desire to be in there with him. (Reminded me of Joseph Parker's last opponent, he was looking out early too).

Even a 50% prime Haye knocks this mouthpiece into next week in 3 or 4 rounds should they meet. And Haye's popularity has dramatically risen in the last 24 hours thanks to last night!
 
Would love to see the odds on such a fight. Bell end will end up on his back. I recall seeing him a few fights back and posting how useless he was. Wouldn't say the same about Haye. Can sum it up in one word - mismatch.
 
Fight probably won't happen. Haye hasn't fought as a Cruiserweight in eight and a half years. So if the bout is to take place, it'll have to at heavyweight which means that Bellew will need to put on at about stone and a half to face him. Piss and wind me thinks.
