Being a fellow scouser and a closet fan of Bellews antics. That said, he has made himself look like a total cock jockey this time. He has taken out 2 no-marks in his last fights and he's suddenly turned into Rocky Marciano? Not a chance!!

Adonis Stevenson(who i dont rate at all), levelled him with minimum fuss. Haye would ko him within 2 rounds.

On the subject of Haye..he is turning into an absolute joke with his lack of activity in the ring. For someone who blabs that he should be matched up with the best after fighting 2 meat packers is ludicrous. If he were really serious he should have had about 4-5 fights since his comeback.
 
If the press can be believed, it looks as though the Joshua - Klitschko bout will happen. 30 million split between them is tasty. The boxing sites are all a buzz with the news, and the comments are flying thick and fast. Vlad teaches the young fella about "real" heavyweight, title fights, to the old man barely getting past the first couple of rounds against the new kid on the block. Lots of talk about them both having suspect chins too. What ever happens, December 10 sees the fight of the year for mine.
 
Looks like Klitschko hasn't yet signed. According to reports, he wants the WBA belt to be on the line, but the WBA don't seem to be keen on sanctioning the bout.

Klitschko may even be looking for another opponent for December. Strange stuff.

This fight isn't happening until the summer IMO.

The WBA are offering an easy way out for Wlad here- if they refuse to put it on the line for these two, he can fight the mandatory challenger to pick up his beloved belt and then sign off with a big pay day against AJ at Wembley in June.

Eddie knows the £££ is massive in the summer and he can give AJ the Parker assignment in the winter instead, building the hype and building the £££. Klitschko gets one of his belts back, everyone gets paid, and Klitschko gets older whilst Josh gets wiser.

I'd be really surprised to see this happen in December and the way it's been dragged out and openly discussed in the press suggests this is a scene setter for a stadium fight.

By what we get from the Southern press, Joe Parker and team don't want any part of Klitschko at the moment. His team are in Las Angeles hoping to finalise a deal with the Ruiz camp. They'll be aboard a Puerto Rico bound plane tonight and will be meeting with WBO folk to try getting it all settled.

A lot of what's going on looks pretty bad for WBA 1 Lucas Browne. His sanctioned bout against Fres Oquendo for the WBA belt might be ripped away from him. He may be forced to take on Klitschko. I'm sure that the WBA would rather have a name like Klitschko than Browne as the champ. Bigger sanctioning fees.
 
This WBA, Klitschko and Joshua thing has me stuffed. What does the WBA want? Are they refusing to sanction a bout where the IBF has a equal billing? If so and they then offer Klitschko a solo crack at their title against someone like Browne, and he (Klitschko) accepts and in the process pulls out of the Joshua bout, is it a duck? Has Anthony Joshua put the frighteners on him?
 
FRIDAY FIGHT.

Every now and then a fight comes along that creates such a sensation that it imprints itself in the minds people right across the planet, sometimes even among those who show little interest in the sport. One such clash took place at Wembley Stadium in 1963 between Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. and the pride of English heavyweight boxing at the time, Henry Cooper, a man who'd later go on to become the only UK fighter to be knighted. Clay was the number one rated challenger to Sonny Liston's belt. This was Clay's lead up fight before facing the champion. A lot has been written about the bout, including the knockdown, smelling salts and glove incidents. Despite what a lot are suggesting, there was no need to go to the dressing room for replacement gloves, as according to Teddy Watham, of the BBBoC, there was a pair at ringside. The time keeper Stan Courtney stated. "At no time was I instructed to stop my watch to allow for the refitting of the gloves. Therefore, I waited until I got the signal from referee Little to ring the bell. When I did so, my watch showed that the interval between rounds had in fact been 1:40."

Here we are over 50 years down the track and it still brings a sense of excitement when again viewed. I loved watching this fight. The sound from the crowd when Our 'Enery lands his 'ammer is amazing. :)

Yes, I remember watching that. Clay was lucky he wasn't caught earlier. He was taking too many chances and taken by surprise. He soon set to business after and cut up Henry badly. The tricks these corners play.
 
About to watch what could be an interesting fight on Ch 5.Josh Taylor (Olympic Ch and unbeaten in 6 - never taken past round 2) v Dave Ryan for the vacant Commonwealth light-welterweight belt. Ryan a previous holder of this title. Questions about whether it's too soon for the youngster but plenty believe he will be good enough. Another question - will it go beyond 2 rounds?
 
Round 2. Taylor off to a good start but good fight back from Ryan. Pretty even
 
Round 3. All action with Ryan on the floor from a great left hook. But couldn't take advantage. Another fight back from Ryan towards the end. Will Taylor tire from his efforts?
 
Round 5. Taylor much crisper and showing good skills. Caught Ryan with a beauty on the bell
 
Round 6 All over. Taylor floors Ryan with a terrific body punch. Ryan just (and only just) beats the count. Then one way traffic and ref steps in to rescue Ryan.

**** me, For someone having only his 7th professional fight, this Taylor could be something special

Agree Ron, Josh Taylor is an immense talent and can only get better under the excellent guidance of Shane McGuigan. The McGuigan camp knew what they had and they were proved bang on as usual. Superb boxer, slick, fast and deceptively powerful. He's going places fast, 7 pro fights and already doing that. Very, very impressive.
