Cause controversy with 49, get a big name to make one last $$$ hurrah.

As for his legacy- he won't be loved but I gotta say he's easily the one with the most skills I've ever watched. Sadly, he has always done the bare minimum with his wins when he could have used his hand speed and combos more and been more exciting, but he won't risk more than he has to and always gets the job done.

The annoying thing for me is the timing of his fights. Waited for Cotto to get bust up by concrete-gloved Margarito, fought Sugar Shane when his speed had declined and made PacMan go through more Marquez rematches as well as a robbery by Bradley before fighting him when he was a little more blunted. Personally, I think Mayweather could have beaten them at their peaks but its his own fault he leaves doubt.
 
Mayweather might well be a prick but he's certainly a highly talented one. He probably has stage managed his career very well but as has been stated before when you get to the top you earn certain privileges to do so.

I don't really think it's fair to say Mayweather hand picked all his opponents. He was not to blame for the Pacqioua fight not taking place 5 years earlier. Pacqioua wouldn't agree to the blood testing, then years later when his star had faded and he needed the fight he agrees to everything and the fight happens. Yes he's hand picked a couple of recent ones such as Maidana and Berto but it's not really his fault he fought Moseley past his peak. Moseley retired came back, retired came back, served drug bans, boxed at different weights etc...

He's not very well liked because of the flash, arrogant way he conducts himself and I think the fact people don't like him makes it hard for them to admit to how good he is.

He could have taken a more risky fight than Berto such as Thurman, Brook or even Golovkin but he'll have this one then next year around May time when they offer him $300million for one more fight he might just fight someone proper.
 
I think financially he can be a bit too impulsive as well and wastes a lot of money- it would be sad in a way if he ended up getting beat 2 or 3 years down the line making comebacks for big bucks.
 
I don't think too many people really know why that 2010? didn't take place. The one reason often stated is the blood testing refusal. Manny was ok with a fight day test, Ffloyd wanted a week out I think. I can't help but think knocking the fight on the head was a bit soft. I think from what I gather, after the fight fell over, Pac destroyed Clottey on points, and Ffloyd had an easy win over the distance against an aging Mosley. At this point, Manny's team put forward a relaxed drug testing offer. It lead to nothing. Seriously, I don't think either fighter was afraid of the other, so no ducking took place. Money maybe, a place in history, who knows? A case might be made for a possible Mayweather ducking of Winky Wright about 05, and Miguel Cotto when at his best in around 07-8 though. That said, Mayweather is one of the classiest boxers we've seen in a long time.

Next Saturday sees the return to the ring of Ffloyd "Money" Mayweather, when he takes on a man who is seemingly a mate, the former WBC and IBF Welterweight Champion Andre Berto. At 33 years of age, Berto looks a light of other days and according to the betting, is a complete outsider at around 30-1. Mayweather is at about 2-5 to win on points. From what I've been reading, ticket sales have not been all that flash, leaving the possibility that promoters will probably pad the stadium with family, friends and staff members. The suggestion is that the champ is doing his buddy a favour, allowing him a $4,000,000 payday. As we all know, Mayweather has stated that this will be his last fight, but rumours persist that he may be back sometime around next May.

There are two other Title fights on the card as well. A WBO Junior Lightweight bout where the Champion Roman Martinez puts his belt on the line against Orlando Salido. The champ goes in as a 1-2 chance while the the challenger as at 6-4. Probably the more interesting bout for UK fans will be the Super Middleweight fight where the WBC Champion Badou Jack comes up against the mandatory challenger, Brit, George Groves. It looks a nice fight. Jack will be making his first defence of the title to took from Anthony Dirrell last April. The betting is strange though as bookies have the Champion as the outsider. Jack is about 6-4 and Groves is close to 1-2. So it looks as though the UK might just add another World Champion to it's already impressive list.

They both have suspect chins Cyc. So I suspect that unless one of them knocks themself out, the other one will do it for them.
 
Jamie McDonnell with an excellent win at the weekend, he is a smashing fighter.

At least with Fury you know he isn't going to be bothered about being jabbed silly, so you know he is happy to have a go at getting inside and landing punches, so it should be a good fight whilst it lasts.


Floyd Mayweather at the weekend in his final fight and barely even a mention. Shows just how disillusioned people are after the bore fest against PacMan and the poor opponent.

No doubt setting up one mega fight for the 50-0

Well the master of the hit n run has " officially " retired . Which we all know is a load of bollocks as we know he will back for number 50.

Anyway, onto a proper boxer/fight. AJ ,may not have been fighting anyone last night , but by god that guys speed/accuracy and power are incredible . He is the going to be the dominant force in heavyweight for many years .

Will wipe out Wilder and Fury within a round a piece .
 
Dunno about that. Those guys you've mentioned are classes above Cornish. I'm not saying that in time he won't beat them, but it's a huge ask expecting him to demolish Wilder and Fury in a round at this stage of his career.

It looks as though Joshua and Whyte might meet soon. That'll be bloody interesting, as AJ has not come up against anyone of that calibre yet.

I've been looking at a heap of interviews with both Joshua and Whyte being featured. Of course AJ is the man and is all anyone wants to talk about, and he'll take some beating when the two clash. But I have to say, I like the look of White. His interviews have been pretty impressive and informative. He's done some serious rounds with Klitschko in the past, and the man likes the young fella. AJ is going to have huge height and reach advantages, but he'll have to fend off some brutal power. His chin will be tested. White thinks Joshua has a deep seated fear of him which stems back to the "famous" knock down. The interview below is interesting as far as body language is concerned.
