Regards Wilder am I right in saying he's scheduled to fight HUGHIE Fury next?!! Now I know plenty think Tyson's a bit of a joke but wait till you see the cousin...

No mate they were offered the fight by Wilder's camp but turned it down. They said it was too soon for Hughie and also with amount of notice before the fight they wouldn't have enough time to prepare properly. Right decision in my opinion and very sensible no point in throwing someone in too soon.

What league would you say was better than Prem just out of interest?

I think for Hughie Furys sake that's a good thing, he'd be gone inside a minute, that lads like Tyson was for his first dozen fights or so, except he's at nearly 20! It's pretty ridiculous that guys like him get title shots offered to them...I guess that's the politics of the sport. I wonder what the Joshua camp would have said...

Spanish and German leagues clearly badger, but the recent performances in Europe of the French and Italian teams probably means they aren't THAT behind the best promoted league in the world. As it was pointed out in Football Focus this morning there's a huge possibility of the PL losing its 4 Champions League spots and witnessing the embarrassing campaigns of Citeh and Chelski last year that's becoming very hard to argue against. They'll need someone getting into the business end this year that's for sure...

I wasn't arguing for the Prem league, was just interested in your opinion, it's not at the standard it was a few years ago. I agree definitely La Liga is better not sure about German league though, it's a pretty competitive league (excluding Munich) but don't think it's quite over taken Prem league yet.

I think Joshua would have turned down the fight too, or at least he should if offered it. Too early for him and I think they know they have to be careful with him due to all the hype.
 
At the moment Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern are stronger than Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal. Though if you took say 5th down over from La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and the EPL then the EPL teams are far far stronger. The big EPL teams will get back on top it is just a cycle like football always has been.
As for the heavyweight scene it is bleaker than ever.

A couple of days ago, long time WBO Cruiserweight Champion Marco Huck from German, put his title on the line against little known Polish fighter Krzysztof Glowacki. The challenger after being dropped in the sixth and being behind on all three judges cards, unleashed a furious barrage in the eleventh to end Huck's reign that's lasted just a couple of weeks short of six years. Already it's being touted as a possible fight of the year. The challenger is in the red and white. Highlights below, but a full coverage is on YouTube if anyone is interested.

Cyc, you should start your posts with Spoiler alert! This fight was on the undercard of the battle of the old boys Steve Cunningham vs Antonio Tarver last night. Which I have recorded but not watched yet! At least now I'll know there's something worth watching as I'm not expecting much from the main event.

With Huck losing he's failed to beat Johnny Nelsons record of most defences of the Cruiserweight title so that should hopefully finally end all talk of Nelson coming out of retirement to fight Huck

As it turns out this spoiler was required. I've just put on last nights boxing and Spike decided for whatever reason to not show it. They replaced it with some TV show without explanation other than a voiceover as it's about to come on saying 'now a change in our advertised scheduled programming'!

Each to their own but have to strongly disagree with this statement. He's miles ahead of anyone else that's around and because he's so good he appears to have 'boring' fights. It's not his fault that there's no one to challenge him.

As for picking Berto, it might be slightly disappointing but anyone would have been a step down from Pacqioua and Mayweather has beaten everyone so I think he's earned the right to pick who he wants to fight in his 'last' fight.

Boxing is entertainment and he has never once entertained in his entire career. He will never go down as an all time great. Hand picked opponents way past their best will certainly not cement a great legacy.

He gives a masterclass every time he gets in the the ring and as a boxing fan I love watching him outclass and completely mug off his opponent. He's hand picked a couple of opponents, which is his right and something that every boxer does but he's taken on all comers and made them look average. And I completely disagree with you that he won't go down as an all time great, he definitely will do

We will have to agree to disagree here. I think when he retires he will never be remembered as the likes of Louis, Ali , Hagler , Leonard etc etc have been and always will be . Mayweather has made more money than anyone else in boxing, that's where his legacy lies.
