So as expected Lomachenko proved much too good. Has to be close to the very best PFP boxer on the planet, personally I'd have Terence Crawford very much on that debate and probably GGG, Canelo and what Andre Ward done to Kovalev itd be hard to leave him out too!

What wasn't so predictable was the defeat of James de Gale on Saturday night. Looks a shadow of the fighter he was, maybe the shoulder surgery has effectively finished him as a world class fighter? The thing is his opponent isn't exactly world class and he dominated de Gale quite comfortably. Eubank Jr, Groves and Callum Smith are miles ahead of de Gale now based on that showing.

I sort of felt that DeGale let the fight slip away. Maybe he was tired pr something, but he just didn't do enough. When in the middle of the ring and letting his hands go, he looked great. But then he'd return to the ropes and and give Truax the chance to make a fight of it. It's like he lacked work ethic. Who knows.

With Ward retired, Kova being called into question, and a possible aging GGG, I'm with Loma.

Was strange, I know de Gales hardly a brawler but he done so little, other than back away for most of the fight. Just glad he didn't get the judges call, was half expecting him to! I'll not write him off yet, fighters can look poor when their off a period of time but id be worried about his shoulder ever being the same again and he did allude to it giving him bother post fight.

I'm a fan of Tyson Fury when it comes to his ring work, but I have to admit, at times he can be a real pain in the arse. The space cadet didn't even bother to attend his UCAD meeting today. In the past he's admitted that he didn't give a fig about the UK boxing big wigs. He's stated that he'd be willing to be registered somewhere else. Fair enough I suppose. But to turn his back on a genuine chance at redemption in the UK is just stupid.
 
Tyson Fury accepts a two year ban backdated from December 13th 2015. Which means as of midnight tonight he is free to fight again pending being able to regain his licence. Could be an interesting year in 2018 for the heavyweight division

Over to you now Tyson. As Floyd says talking doesn’t win fights, let see you show the desire to get back into shape and into the ring to do what you can do better than most. Luckily he’s still young enough at 29 to fight in his prime if he wants it enough. Let’s hope he does, would be some comeback.

That’s a big plus for him that he’s still got age on his side and I think the fact that he’s agreed to the retrospective ban shows his willingness to get back in the ring ASAP. He could have kept arguing and fighting which could have dragged on and on

Adam Smith once again going on about how strong the Heavyweight Division is. Its a joke surely to boast their PPV figures.
A terrible division. Lennox Lewis , Holyfield , Tyson , Bowe are completely different class to this current crop. In fact most of the contenders Lewis fought id take above the current crop.

Joshua v Parker next. Rubbish fight.

Lets get Frampton v Selby on. Then the SMW final - Smith v Groves/Eubank.

Got a feeling Eubank is going to win the series.

Totally agree there’s no Lennox Lewis around today, but if Fury can get his act together and get in with Joshua at some point down the line I’m dam sure it’d be a fight no boxing fan will want to miss. The build up would be epic and to have two British boxers in such a monstrously high profile title fight is surely no bad thing.

Agree re Eubank Jr too by the way, have came round at last to believe he’s the real deal. Hugely talented boy indeed.

I’m still yet to be convinced by young Eubank. I fancy Groves to beat him but more than happy to be proven wrong. Despite his public ‘act’ i actually like Eubank, he knows his craft and when not trying to be too much like his old man is quite a grounded kid
 
It looks as though a break through has been made in the Joshua v Parker negotiations. I don't know what the deal is, but yesterday morning things took a step in the right direction. It's been nearly seven years since a heavyweight unification bout took place, so if the news is true, this will be a huge affair.
 
The Saunders v Lemieux bout this weekend will be a close thing according to bookies. Saunders 10-11, Lemieux 11-10. I don't know where to go with this fight. I've watched a couple of Saunders' bouts and am not too much of a fan. I like Lemieux because he's a serious puncher, but he's not as agile as Saunders. If it goes the distance I think Billy Joe will get the nod. But will it go the full 12 rounds?
 
Don't really follow the noble art but happened to watch last night. Some guy from down the road from me fought and won a European title. He's from a traveller family at it was at York hall,don't know his name but he looks a bit tasty.

I could be wrong Florida, but I assume you're referring to Martin Ward, the man who took out Giner in 6. As you said, he does look a bit tasty, and he'll have to be if he's to make serious progress in the Super Featherweight rankings. He'll have to be something pretty special. The names there are amazing. Lomachenko being one of them. He does seem to have enough talent to hopefully give him and his family a nice leg up in life. Good luck to him.
