I know there was someone who said there was definite interest and he thought the Allams would be going, but not anyone saying they definitely would.

He did indeed tell us we'd be sold in October, although he was careful to omit which year/decade/century...

I do wonder why we have such an aversion to 5-year deals though, particularly given his form and injury record.

In normal circumstances I'd be over the moon that a good young player has signed a new deal but I know it's just a away of increasing his value come the January sales.

If the allams hadnt given him a new contract and sold him for a low fee in Jan they would have been slated for not giving him a new deal etc....

It's completely there own fault but they are damned if they do and damned if they don't
