To be fair Duff, he gave a rather good account of himself when he played last season. In the Premier League.

Agreed. This is the optimum time for the club to fully secure a potential asset.
Put him on a long contract now (without unfavourable clauses) then watch his value rise with every goal.
He's a young player who has just discovered he can score goals at first team level. He will be full of confidence and in this league we could have a 20 goal player on our hands. That could mean a £(15 to 20) million player in today's market - if the club are in the driving seat.
So now is the time to pin him down, not when greedy agents are whispering in his ears.

Agents will already be taking to him and "advising" him just as they did with Tymon
People seem to fail to grasp that getting a lucrative deal at a players current club is lucrative for agents too.
I'm sure they are, but the offer of a longer (and hopefully more lucrative) contract at his current career stage will be far more tempting than when lower level PL clubs are expressing an interest.

I never said they didn't, I know exactly how agents work....i had one, and Know a couple still very well!
All I said was they will already be in his ear
I liked Clucas, but Bowen seems more of a goal threat. But obviously it would have been better keeping both.
