Is Jarrod still eligible for the U21s even though he is 22? How far away is he from the full squad? Not many goal scoring wingers in front of him? Or do we have to wait till he moves to Spurs before he gets a sniff of either?

Don’t think he’s eligible for Wales is he?

Davies and Huddlestone both should've been called up during 13/14 - and considering how ****e England were at the World Cup following that season, they probably should've been in that team over a good few others.

Whilst we might seem to over exaggerate, I do think there is a correlation, which comes from the fact that I imagine England scouts don't really care for visiting Hull because we aren't fashionable.


I also think geography comes into it. It's easier to stay on the west side of the M1.

There must be something in it, we’re not fashionable or something!
Livermore played 1 or 2 games for West Brom & England call up. Maguire not even played for Leicester & got a call up!
If Bowen goes in the summer, he’ll be mentioned if not called up for a friendly, before he plays a competitive game for that club!
Yes I do realise we are in the Championship & only a few players get picked from there for England!

He is eligible for Wales yes. They might see him as a successor to Gareth Bale in that position. Or Hal Robson Kanu or whoever.

Maguire was in the Leicester starting XI when he got called up, and he'd have been called up if he hadn't gone to Leicester and Livermore was never really good enough to play for England anyway.

Not just us, but a lot of other teams too. It's got much better under Southgate, but you look back over the last 20 years and some of the utter ****ing dross who got called up because they played for a big name team is ridiculous, and there is definitely a trend to players moving to a top 6 club and then immediately being called up for England too.
