I think donga has a good point on lovern.

With matip in and shako there we are really looking at Lovern plus A.n.other.

I think there'll be a lot more out the door than just skertl lucas and enrique... theres quite a few to add to that if kloopp can get right guys.

As for allen.... well... when he signs a new deal i'll believe it.

I can't remember a time when Skrtel has ever been our best? If he was, was probably only because everyone else was having a mare. He had 1 half decent season and City wanted him for 20m after that he's been average ever since, with most of his issues covered by the fact he scored a few goals.

Its time he moved on not only for us but himself. He's not been the worse defender in the world and made some important contributions but he can and should be improved on.

I'm nearly certain Skrtel won player of the season for us at some point.

That may point towards the fact we've not been very good, but it also points towards Skrtel doing his best for the cause.


I'm certainly all for moving them on, there isn't time for sentiment in football. But to want to see the back of player that has given 100% every time for our club is taking it a bit far. Good luck to him whatever he does. I'll always remember him for being a good no nonsense defender that stuck his neck on the line for his club.

Yes Sky, that is so true. As to Gomez, an ACL iat his age is cause for concern, especially as his game was based on speed and athleticism. Hopefully it's just a setback, but even at his age he's not going to hit the ground running in July for pre-season having been a year out.

Well, duh. Summer is always a surprise - hopefully this one won't have a Balotelli or a Benteke though.

We're simply looking at who's contracts are running down and speculating. I've got about as much chance as Toure getting a new contract FFS <laugh>

I'm expecting a lot of movement but not expecting any particular players to leave bar Balotelli and Benteke.

Some are obvious as Sky said, Toure will probably be out and Enrique must be out of contract by now. Balo has no intention of coming back but I can see Benteke being kept as a totally different option to all the other strikers you have. Lucas is a good utility player and I suspect he will be kept, Skirtle will also be kept unless you buy two new centre backs to go straight into the first team and keep Lovren and Sakho for back up.
I can see you buying around 5 players, two proper midfielders, a left back at least one match ready centre back and maybe a winger. Not sure where the guys you have already agreed to sign fit in but I get the impression on here that they are for the future.

With how Klopp's ignored Benteke over the last couple of months? Got to be going imo. Toure, Enrique and the like are definitely going.

We've already signed a CB and two CMs btw
 
a lot of the talk about who leaves depends on someone wanting them unless contract is expiring.
Balo i expect to still be ours next season but on loan unless ,god willing, some Chinese team bid for him and he agrees to go.
the players most likely to be moved on easily are the likes of Illori as presumably not on silly money and transfer fee wouldn't be high the other ones are the likes of Benteke who will still have a decent reputation so decent offers may come in.
more difficult are the aging players on high wages whose form has dropped i.e. Skrtle or unproven youngsters who cost a fortune and presumably on good PL wages i.e. Markovich.

having said all that i remember laughing at a Sky report stating we had bid £35m for A Carroll and stating "they can as whatever they want doesn't mean anyone is going to stupid enough to pay it"
