Bullshit, people really haven't had it so good. People aren't starving, homelessness is probably the lowest it's ever been (.14%), and how many of those homeless people have contributed to their own situation through addiction? The majority of families have a annual foreign holiday, computers and cars. More a case of people wanting more, than needing it. People aren't stealing and mugging to buy food, they're doing it for trainers, phones etc.
Bit of a generalisation. Not sure that mugging was ever something that the starving did regularly, for a start. I wasn't talking about crime, though. Society is currently very focused on a vanishingly small number of people. We're one of the richest countries in the world, yet we can't fund our public services and we have food banks.
People aren't in the dire straits that they where when Britain was classed as great ! They where much tougher times then but my point is who was it great for ??
