@KHeneage
La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting that Milan have contacted ‪#‎LFC‬ for Borini. They see him as first choice. Puts a move to ‪#‎SAFC‬ in doubt.

Id offer 6 million and Wickham for Borini and then buy Welbeck with promises of starting up top every game. I think Man Utd are making a big mistake getting rid of Welbeck, he had such a difference to the Man Utd when he came on on Sunday.
That way Liverpool still have the same number of strikers and 8 million off their bill.
It sorts out Wickham situation with regards to contract running down.
Gives our team more pace and skill.

But then again I dream a lot too :-)

<laugh> Liverpool wouldn't touch Wickham with a barge pole. Maybe with Kenny at the helm but not now. You have some bizarre dreams don't you fella? :D

Borini isn't worth £6m plus Wickham. By the end of the season, I'd expect you couldn't get Wickham for £6m plus Borini. If the club wants to progress, we need to keep our young talent and be patient. I really believe Wickham will become a regular England player and possibly as good as Shearer, but this time in red and white. By all means go after Welbeck, but not at Wickham's expense. It's now time to step away from this Borini fiasco and change to a new target.

I don't think any player is worth 14 million but its the stupid markets we live in.
And yes id love to keep Wickham but we all have to remember he has had around 8 good games in 3 years for us (and yes I know he was loaned and played under other managers), but are you willing to give the kid a massive payrise to keep him or go for something that we know a bit more about. Welbeck may not be the prolific goal scorer every team wants but he is by far an away better than what we have and I really believe he takes you up the pitch faster and with more possession than anything we have...or even that Man Utd has to be honest. Borini then wing or support striker to that would be excellent. Id love to see Wickham develop into a full international and stay with us but I don't think we can take the risk especially if we can improve using him as a make weight.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have made an offer to Liverpool to sign Fabio Borini. The Italian forward had looked set to join Sunderland earlier in the summer after spending time at the club last season, but the transfer has dragged on and it now seems there is a chance he could head back to Serie A. Milan have also been linked today with a swoop for Chelsea forward Fernando Torres.

Welbeck's issue is he gets to the edge of the box and just kicks the ball at the defenders hoping it will find it's way through to Rooney/RVP. He doesn't have the patience required, that's why he's 3rd/4th choice at United.

The only reason he looked good against you when he came on was because he was running around faster than everybody else, he's all effort, that we can't fault.

Lille forward Salomon Kalou has acknowledged his future is in the balance and he appears to be open to the prospect of a move to the Bundesliga after being linked with Borussia Monchengladbach. Reports have also recently claimed that Sunderland are interested in bringing the former Chelsea man back to the Premier League.

It looks like Borini's procrastination has also cost us a £4m viable alternative....

I can believe/agree with all that but he might be different if he played as an out and out striker (as the 'sharp point' of the attack)?

(Manu certainly lacked pace, drive and urgency going forward - lots of sideways passes.)

Looks that way mate although, tbh, we shouldn`t have let it happen. Remiss of the club imo.

Thick head, seriously what on earth have you been smoking mate? you obviously don't go to the games and watch Whickham , and to compare him to Shearer is farcical .
Shearer with a broken leg would be better than Wickham , even now.

All interesting stuff, I would love Salah.

I have said it a million times on this thread already and regardless of my own preference I still think Borini will be in a Sunderland shirt some the end of the window.

My view is this is all agents trying to get the best deal for player club etc....

But the echo has wrote.

But Poyet is hopeful that Borini, who was again left out of the Liverpool squad for Monday’s defeat at Manchester City, will join Sunderland on a second season-long loan spell after the Black Cats’ withdrew their £14million permanent offer for the Italian.

God knows then mate, if he does come back on loan then that scuppers coates, just wish it was resolved, must be doing congerton and gus's heads in like the rest of us, holding everything up

We seemed to have lost Kalou as an alternative option:

NEWCASTLE CHRONICLE: Sunderland target Salomon Kalou wants to go to Germany if he leaves Lille, while AC Milan want Liverpool's Fabio Borini on loan
