if the borini deal was dependant on the bin dippers getting another striker then why did they accept the bid? it seems to me the hold up is at borinis end and he's hoping for a better offer from another club. we seem to be like the jilted ex boyfriend trying to win back his ex. we have put deadlines on the deal and they have passed, we should be looking at other options as its an awfull lot of money for biorini and we could take a chance with someone else. the window is winding down and we need players through the door and i dont see why were hanging about for months and looking like mugs

I seem to remember at the time of our bid being accepted the Remy to Liverpool transfer was imminent. So they probably accepted our bid thinking getting Remy was a certainty. But I know what you mean! As time has gone on I feel it has become increasingly wrong to think that Liverpool's search for a striker is the cause for the hold up!

A selling club can hold up and stall a deal at any point, We'd accepted a bid from Stoke for Catts yet still pulled the plug. Club sign off is the last thing that is done, it's when all the signed paperwork is submitted in relation to the transfer itself, A player can agree terms and have a medical only to have the plug pulled on the deal. A signed contact doesn't come onto effect until the selling club submits the paperwork and it's cleared by the Premier league or FA where applicable then the new contract can come into effect and the buying club can then register the player.

Its probably a minefield and no one wants the press getting the wrong end of the stick so everyone is keeping quiet until it can be finalised.

aye, true i forgot to add in wages

Still would have thought Baloteli would be 20+ million though when you look at how much other players are going for

just said on ssn that he will be getting £6m a year AFTER tax £115k pw AFTER tax - i make that around £185k pw

Exactly. In the mean time the press just print whatever they fancy as per because they have nothing to go on.

Over a month has passed and the press are still to produce any **** to back any of their theory's. That in itself proves your point I think fella.

I zoned out of this thread around the 500 comment mark, only checked it for Gus comments. Now the window is coming to an end I've got back into it but it's the same **** from when a zoned out.

Biggest transfer saga in this forums history. Bigger than the bent one on old 606 but not better, that thread ran just a fraction of the time as I remember and was a whirlwind transfer story and so entertaining.

i'm guessing this one will come to a conclusion tonight if not tomorrow

I give it 4 working days from when Balotelli signs or it's not happening. that's my guess anyway.

think it will be almost immediate myself, you could be right mind, think they will need the £14m or whatever it is sharpish though, especially hoying those sorts of wages on the books, what a signing for them

It depends if Borini has been aloud to talk turkey with Sunderland over his contract already. If we've had permission then I think you're right, but if we haven't then we've still got his bloody agent to deal with and all that faff on which could add a few days.

this transfer has turned into the ****ing never ending story. hopefully rogers has a word with borinin and tells him theres not much chance of him getting game time and he bites the bullet and signs. he knows the club and the fans plus he knows he is pretty much a gaurenteed starter if he's fit. its a no brainer for me and its not like anybody else has come in for him and if they did would anybody else cough up the 14 mill the bin dippers want? i think we will get this one over the line and a few decent loans in to bolster the squad. could be an exciting final day with jim white for us
