    Just a alternative to Borini...

Hull could be signing Jordan Rhodes. Valued at £12m. Rovers are willing to sell if the price is right. More on #SSNHQ

A striker with a good record in the lower leagues is much more of a gamble than Borini. Why has no other prem team gone for him, poeple have known about him for a while. Hull losing whats he called to Soton and Snodgrass' injury, makes this look a bit desperate.

Rhodes at £12m represents far better business than Shane Long at £12m in my opinion. That's a no brainer from Bruce as a swap, probably on lower wages as well. Hull have done well there.

I disagree. Long is a decent striker. Plenty of players do weell in the Championship and fail in the Prem. £12mil from the Champ is too much.

I'm not sure on that like. If the delay is because LFC are still looking for a replacement before they get rid, Borini would have been told he was surplus to requirements by now and insisted on being released to a club who desire his services, in which case, this would have been leaked somehow after four weeks of the agreed fee, surely to God !

Long's never hit double figures in a Premier League campaign, he gets in all the right places he just can't finish them enough, which is one thing Rhodes can do. He's an instinctive finisher, maybe he doesn't have the best movement but he'll finish a chance if it's put on a plate for him by his team mates, at any level.

Rhodes can do well in this league, not sure about Hull mind but I'd say he'd get more than Long. Long only scored prolifically for Reading in the Championship in one season. £12m was a ridiculous fee for him, if Saints get 10+ league goals out of him I'll be astonished.

Sky Sport Italia are now reporting that AC Milan and Liverpool have agreed a fee of €20million (£16million) for Mario Balotelli with the player telling his team-mates today was his last day at Milan.

Well Borini will not get a game for Liverpool now so he will have to go somewhere if he wants 1st team football. We seem the obvious club but you just never know as the window gets close to shutting.

I still think he will be in a Sunderland shirt this season.

Liverpool sign Balotelli for 16m, and we buy Borini for 14 million

As much as I like Borini, I know who is getting the better deal there

yes but balotellis wages will cost a hell of alot more than borini so the deal will be quite cheaper plus we wont be paying 14mil upfront with add ons from mig and henderson will be some of the cost and add ons for future app and goals will make up some of it too

aye, true i forgot to add in wages

Still would have thought Baloteli would be 20+ million though when you look at how much other players are going for

if the borini deal was dependant on the bin dippers getting another striker then why did they accept the bid? it seems to me the hold up is at borinis end and he's hoping for a better offer from another club. we seem to be like the jilted ex boyfriend trying to win back his ex. we have put deadlines on the deal and they have passed, we should be looking at other options as its an awfull lot of money for biorini and we could take a chance with someone else. the window is winding down and we need players through the door and i dont see why were hanging about for months and looking like mugs

You can accept an offer without signing it off. I would have thought.
