Sorry chaps, a bit more news for you on the elusive Fabio, with quotes as well:

FABIO BORINI’S move from Liverpool is NOT being delayed by the Italian lacking the desire to join Sunderland, insists Gus Poyet.

It is four weeks since Sunderland’s £14million bid was accepted by Liverpool for Borini, yet there has still been no resolution to the Black Cats’ pursuit of their main summer target.

But when asked today whether the delay to the deal was being caused by Borini lacking the commitment to return to the Stadium of Light, Sunderland boss Poyet rubbished that suggestion.

Poyet said: “It’s not the case. I can assure every single supporter that is not the case.

“Please trust me.

“I cannot tell you everything because it’s not fair on anybody.

“But it’s not like Borini doesn’t want to come and we’re trying to convince him.

“I talked to Fabio and that is not the case.

“It’s about doing it at the right time.

“He’s come back to fitness and training with the team. So he wouldn’t be fit for tomorrow anyway.

“So calm, please!”

Poyet says he is reluctant to set a deadline for when he wants the deal to be completed too, despite Sunderland considering other targets.

“I’m just not trying to put a deadline on it,” he added.

“We need a player in that position and we are ready to move on and have an option.

“But of course, what happens if you move on and he’s still available?

“It’s a tricky situtation.

“But it’s impossible for me to say Monday, Wednesday or the 31st (for a deadline).”

That'll do for me. I wonder what it could be though, Liverpool happy for him to move, we want him here, he's not opposed to the move, my opinion is that his girlfriend isn't the problem. Agent?

its the "at the right moment" part that's the clue imo. Sounds to me like Liverpool will be happy to let him go, when something else happens (A new striker?).

Remy was supposed to be moving around the time of the accepted bid. Maybe Liverpool won't let him move on until they replace him, If they don't get their man than Borini doesn't move this window? Wild punt that like.

Seems to be this, reading between the lines.

Mind, if that doesn't happen till Jan, and Borini doesn't play, he's worth half what they get now.

Gamble on their part.

Borini is about 3 weeks behind everyone else with his pre-season preparations. His avatar is still him, wearing the SAFC gear. Surely if he was staying at LFC he'd be wearing their strip??
I reckon Rodgers will keep him until the Liverpool target walks into Anfield with the shirt...then Fabio will be on his way up here.
