CHARLIE MULGREW insists Neil Lennon is Manager of the Year — and hopes the Celtic boss ISN’T snubbed like his Hoops stars.
Lennon is furious none of his players were short-listed for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Last year’s winner Mulgrew is also stunned — and he urged the country’s gaffers NOT to make the same mistake when picking their champ.
Asked if Lennon should win Manager of the Year, Mulgrew replied: “Yes, definitely.
“He’s done really well to manage us through massive Champions League games and to then come back into league fixtures. I know what is expected and we were on a doing-to-nothing at times.
“So he has done well to keep it all together.
“I would hope that people recognise what we do, recognise what the manager does as much as we do.”
Mulgrew insists he was STUNNED by the PFA Scotland Celts snub.
He added: “I still don’t see how one Celtic player didn’t have enough votes to get into the top four. It has been noted what we have been done in the Champions League and being so clear in the league so it’s disappointing. It’s baffling to be honest.
“I am not saying there is an agenda. But surely when people are looking at their votes they have to look at who has won the league, who is in finals and who done well in Europe. And surely everyone knows “Surely you have to pick a player from that.”
Lennon vowed to boycott the awards dinner but Mulgrew insists that’s NOT been discussed by the Celtic team.
Mulgrew added: “I’ve not heard anybody say they’re not going.
“I would imagine we would have somebody there, although we’ll be playing in Dingwall that day.”
