Of course it's a board signing every signing is a board signing as they have the final say if they didn't want Bony they wouldn't have sanctioned it. All signings at swansea are discussed by the manager, scouts coaches etc and put to the board who then make the final decision. With regard to HJ saying he had sleepless nights before signing Bony is true I was there when he made the statement but it was partly said tongue in cheek with a smile on his face. He just does what's best for club and the signing of Bony was clearly the correct one. Why on earth people say Bony should deny the ridiculous claims being made in these crap reader seeking rumours is pointless. Michu is still with us and how many rumours on him leaving have we seen. Bony made his intentions clear in his goal celebration yesterday. If people think he's lying then he could just as easily go in front of the cameras and lie, so what's the point. Absolute none sense.

Well said Sbulby, good common sense analysis, some do not seem to understand our clubs workings or it's structure on times, Bony's goal celebration was a peach, he's clearly heard or read the media garbage coming from some quarters!..............<ok>

But Chadli was one of the players that Laudrup desperately wanted in the summer - he was one of the ones he was annoyed at us for missing.

Also, I admit there are many ways for a player to voice loyalty (even writing that word makes me feel naive):
* signing a new contract.
* Official clear statement to the press- preferably in a conference setting with witnesses!
* In person to the fans.

I would prefer the first two, but it isn't him being silent on the matter.

There is a danger that we fall on one side or the other - either Laudrup or Jenkins was a genius/buffoon. The truth is probably a bit of both but, most importantly, there was that clash of personalities. Ultimately, Laudrup was here short term, he admitted that and I respect his honesty on that, but Jenkins is and has been here on the long hall. As such, for the long term benefit of the club, in a choice either/or for the benefit of the club it had to be Jenkins.

I'm sure Laudrup will go on to do well at other clubs but if he doesn't fit with the club then that is what had to happen. Doesn't mean one or the other's a mug. It's like signing a flair player for the old Stoke - he'll fail but not necessarily because he is a bad player. Meaning it's best for player and club sometimes to go different directions - they clearly could not work together.

There was clearly something not right with how the team was playing. People knock the winter signings but Emnes will do a lot more for us as a flexible sub than Alvaro or Schecter and, with no other options, he'll turn out alright.

I think saying Jenkins was faultless really isn't true as there have been clear mess-ups (summer and winter signings didn't run smoothly, plus the Ki incident etc) but, likewise, Laudrup's team had not been playing as it originally did for a whole year. Some of his choices (like Amat in midfield) really were not good ideas and he tolerated too much sloppiness with passing.

Likewise Jenkins has overseen us getting here, repeatedly finding the right manager, whilst Laudrup won us our first major trophy. Best of luck to both of them, and respect, and I hope they are proud of their achievement and learn from their mistakes.

Don't know what's happening today, but all these sensible posts, I feel the sun has come out, well said Goodland, a correct view indeed!................<cheers>

If only things were as "clearly " as people " wished " . Clear would see a quote saying , I'm staying long term . I would love to see that quote , just don't think it'coming . The point to the ground was a band aid to take pressure off him . Saying it the public domain would be like a trip to the doctor.

Do you know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking you need a trip to the doctor's Breezy, you are a strange one for sure.

One thing is for sure valley , Bony didn't come to Swansea because of Monk , and neither will anyone else . This all part of Jenkins self serving plan . Laurdup out , anybody (monk) caretaking Laudrup's well built team in 3 competitions till seasons end . Ditch Monk at seasons end and find someone with connections to rebuild . Huw a great evil genius !PS Now that our great servant Monk is our manager phil ,you have to refrain from calling him useless and such . Oh , well , there are plenty of other people from the team you can belittle now ---slagem

Things have gone pretty quiet on the Shelvey situation also after his tweets about the "sacking " , and then deleted the tweets I guess .Thats another one sitting out there fuming . If he doesn't say something positive, well -------

Players will come to Swansea because we will meet the valuation of their current clubs, meet their financial requests and will offer them a great opportunity to advance their careers. Simple <ok>

That's how football works.....We are an attractive club to come and play for if we play the swansea way. It wont be long before the term "swansea way" will be included in the dictionary the amount of times i have heard it mentioned on MOD and elsewhere..<laugh>

Bony would not be here if jinx and the board never approved the signing. I know jinx did not want to spend as much as that at the time and he said so. But like all good clubs they had a meeting and thrashed out a solution and it was agreed that it was worth the risk for bringing him here. the same method was used to determining that Ince was not worth the risk...as it happens our shrewd board have been right in the approval of Bony...

Don't shoot the messenger but why then did jenkins baulk at the idea of spending £12,000,000 on a player ?

Probably because its a record signing fee.! Recall back last summer when ML complained about the club and not having funds to spend on signing quality players. It may also have something to do with the Board not having to deal with Laudrup's agent who is believed to have tried to cut in on all deals.

Apparently Monk wants to go after Allen in the summer , on the heels of Laudrup trying to get him in the jan window , that's a good caretaker lol . The only reason I bring this up is it's from sports direct , they have a source with there finger on the pulse of Swansea. My theory from the way things are coming out is it's Laudrups agent with connections with everyone involved .

Is this the same sports direct that has a shop in swansea that has had a closing down sale for the last 4 years..<laugh>

It's the sports direct that most football people go , with a sore paw , to tell there side of a story in confidence . That folks , is whats unfolding here .Should be lots more tidbits coming through them , from there angry , close source . I thought you knew everything dai lol

I do know that i rushed there to buy some sports goods for the grand kids because they had a huge notice saying Hurry closing down sale 70% off on selected goods.....Im pissed off because i gave up a good days fishing as the bloody shop is still having a closing down sale 4 years later..<laugh>

Yes but if Jenkins sanctioned the purchase then thats not a huge confidence booster to the player when he comes out with statements like that .

What that got to do with Bony talking to someone close to the situation and them talking to sports direct. It's kinda ironic dai , I've seen you so many times on the end of the hook .
