Ki also has the ability to unlock defences, Poyet seems to have given him a new lease of life at Sunderland. All his Korean fans were extremely critical of the way ML used him.
He never gave the boy a chance, it was always De Guzman, I want Ki back from Sunderland, I'm sure Monk will bring the best out of him too!...........
Ki would fit in perfectly with us now. We never paid £6 million for him for nothing. We want him back for next season and not sold to sunderland imo.
I don't think Ki should come back if we can retrieve the better part of the money we spent on him . It probably won't be only Laudrup that remembers how " babyish " Ki was when he didn't get picked . How can anyone go anywhere till summer ?. Questions will be answered in the summer gents , like I've said from the beginning
To understand Ki, is to understand what it is like seeing a player with half your ability getting in front of you in the pecking order! Managers have their favourites regardless of ability, I've seen it at all levels, Ki will not be sold!.................
Well if Sunderland don't get relegated , I predict Ki WILL be sold for a price close to what we payed for him .
We'll see, but I think that De Guzman who is only on his second loan season will be gone, and ki will be back to replace him, now that's what I'd put my money on!................
Even Laudrup wasn't sold on De Guzman , otherwise he would have bought him the summer after the first loaned season. The parent company must be paying part of his wages making the loan desirable . Definitely gone in the summer , even if Laudrup was still here .
Ki caused problems by being big time Charlie, considering monk has got into like minded people like Chico and straightened him out by telling him a few home truths I reckon Ki is better off sold. He played a **** load of games for us and was average, rose tinted specs by some on here , let's also remember that any player who it in his contract he is guaranteed 20 starts a season ain't gonna be that fussed to go the extra yard in training, why should he when he knows he is gonna play? Fook that I say, I like him as a player but he is not so special that he will make a big difference to us,he is as powder puff a player as JDG and his tracking is just as poor. Maybe people should revisit the old threads just to jog memory, most of the ones wanting him back were the same ones who thought he was overrated and not worth the money, make your mind up lads ! Ki is a steady eddy who is also one of our top earners, he is neat and tidy but nothing special,he looks great at Sunderland because he is the only ball playing midfielder, I've watched him about 6 times this season and in all honesty he is still bang average . Let's pull the old threads on Ki and remind ourselves what we thought of him a year ago
Get Ki back when the loan deal finishes with Suunderland, and don't go after JDG again when his loan expires.
To hell with what people thought of him a year ago, playing in his favoured position, he's been very good for Sunderland this season, as is evident by how highly the Mackems rate him. It was a mistake to keep JDG and let him go out on loan IMO.
We didn't buy him because it would have cost over 5million for him. We got lucky as it would have been a waste of money.
Not really lucky imo , Laudrup was never going to buy him . Secured good , practical loan deals for a fairly good player. No player is perfect , but a lot of people seem to think De Guzman has to be . My biggest bone to pick with De Guzmam is his backtracking, sometimes it looks like he could make a play defensively and gives up running back leaving situations to the defence.
You obviously haven't seen much of him this season valley.. Same old same old, no problem if he comes back but all things considered in the attacking midfield position I rate him lower than the following Michu Jdg Shelvey Poz Pablo Ki The reason I mention Pablo is because it's quite clear he thrives playing there and monk thinks it's also a strength to play him there In all honesty if the mackems had the same options as us in that position Ki would probably be in the same position on the list. Let's say he is 3rd choice at best, where else would he play? Centre mid ? No, can as and Leon are far better, defensive mid? Nope , so his options are limited at best, considering he earns one of the top wages why waste that money to put him on the bench most weeks? He has played his favored position for us in the past and he was average,Pablo has played two games there and created 3 goals ! Shelvey will only get better and has 4 goals and 3/4 assists same with poz,who has 9 assists in all competitions Ki hasn't been anywhere near that at Sunderland. As I said rose tinted specs..
I rate him higher than JDG and Poz (he's got a lot of potential though) and would add really good cover to jonjo and Michu. Since Poyet took charge, he's been instrumental in helping Sunderland climbing the table.
