Hi

Was thinking the other day about our so called bogey teams. I always remember Derby being one for us. Anyone else know of any of our bogey teams or what teams would call us theirs?

Blackburn Rovers used to be a bogey team. Watford too.

Looking back down the years, I think Newcastle used to hate playing us at times. Liverpool were never that keen. I think ManU didn't like us at The Dell. I wonder why..?

Swindon, went to the away match in our first season in league one and the only positivie I could find from the whole trip was that I didnt have to live in swindon (no offence anyone who does live there aha)

I kind of give Swindon the benefit of the doubt. The town, not the team, as my favourite band of all time come from there.

We definately used to be Liverpools bogey team.......the season they were promoted to the then 1st Division we actually beat them 3 times. Twice away, once at home if memory serves me correctly. Watford are definately todays bogey team for us or they were. Years ago either of the Bristol teams used to cause us problems frequently as was Swindon. Well at least until recently perhaps.

In the sixties are bogey team was Leicester, they had a player called Andy Lockhead who used to run us ragged. We should have bought him.

Care to enlighten us? ,

XTC are about the only noteworthy band to come from Swindon. They're only making plans for Nigel, mind.

And that's exactly who it is. Fabulous band. Most people will only know them for Making Plans For Nigel, but they were far, far more than that. Probably one of the most influential bands in the last couple of decades. I don't think they made a bum song in their entire catalogue.

A bloke I used to be in a band with knew Andy Partridge quite well. Top bloke, he recorded one of Mark's songs and gave it to him for his 40th birthday.

During the 80s early 90s seem to remember we never got anything home or away to Everton or Sheffield Wednesday.
