As a basis for next season, same back 5, Murphy, Reid and NML as the attacking midfield 3 with Ken or ward up front. Could start with ralls and bacuna in front of the back 4 but would like a bit more class in the centre of the park.
More depth needed for a long season though.
I think Reid could be a key player for us next season....

.....if managed correctly.

I’ve just posted on match day thread the offensive part of the team needs to be based around Reid. He was a shining light yesterday.

As long as Bristol City dont go up we will probably buy their best player again. Any idea who that ?

Reid is very skilful no doubt but so lightweight. Got muscled off the ball so often again yesterday.

I would always play Camarasa over him.

However the latter will be gone next season so Reid will get more opportunities. Also he has a good Championship record. Will be happy to se him get a more regular role next season but he needs to beef up a bit.

Ward? Bench at best if he stays fit. Loads of effort and wins a lot in the air but poor first touch and not quick enough for the Prem.

In saying he wins air ball even Zohore came on and won headers yesterday. Probably says more about Palace than our players.

Zohore has been a big disappointment this season. When he wasn't injured he didn't really do much on the pitch. I'd be looking at replacing him next season.

Bobby Reid is a proven goal scorer at Championship level (don't forget its Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday quite a lot so need to be able to cope with that)

Guys let's get a bit real here.

He's a good player, yes, he's skilful, has good vision and a nice turn of speed over a short distance and knows where the back of the net is but his physique does him no favours, short and lightweight. He gets muscled off the ball much too easily and had a tendency to disappear from the action when it got fast and furious. He also lacks the aggression of similar sized players in the past.

He can't do much about his stature but surely he can work on beefing himself up a bit and getting stuck in a bit more.

He was successful with the Wurzels, hence the money we paid for him, and I very much hope we can find the right role for him to succeed with us.

I can't see him scoring 20+ especially if he is used in the no. 10 role, but I would be happy seeing him get 12 to 15 if we can get a proper no. 9 who can also weigh in with a similar or better tally.

Jack Marriot and Neal Maupay are both the same size and similar physique but have no problem scoring.

Given the chance AND playing in the right set up, Reid is a more than capable of matching them. He's a tryer, quick and alert, qualities we lack elswhere in the side.

He was bought for no reason at all by Warnock other than to fill the options bench. He never fitted the Warnock Plan A scenario that plagued our efforts last year.

Jack Marriott short and stocky...ugly as mortal sin.....very impressed! Can’t make the starting line up on a regular basis. When did we last have a short, stocky, ugly and prolific attacker? Not lightweight in the Healey Mason style, we need someone thick set and full of spunk! :emoticon-0103-cool:
