I will not comment because I do not know the reason why Riga did not get the job. IE whether he was offered the job and turned it down. Without knowing the facts I will give you a knee jerk reaction that I am very unhappy with it.
That's precisely how I see it... How many of Roley's player's were used for the crucial Watford game...I think Nick touched on it on another thread - Riga probably told RD that this project would need a fair amount of investment and from then on they were no longer on the same page.

That rumour started the day he turned up..? If true, it makes this news even more puzzling...Have heard a rumour that Riga will be taking over the Academy.
Yes and if things stay as they are player wise, it won't be starved of manure...I was already worried about next season, at least we'll have a new pitch...
The main thing Roley looks for is how many nodding puppets he can surround himself with, because this whole network thing really doesn't leave room for much else...I defy anyone to tell me how he qualifies on merit to be Charlton coach ?

Sounds like he works well with young players, according to the Belgian media, so with our youth policy it makes sense to RD.
Let's stay calm.
Many of the arguments being made now were the same as when Riga was introduced; and yet now 2 months later we're devastated that he might not be staying.
In pure footballing terms (ie ignoring the internal CAFC going ons) I can't see much difference between Bob Peeters and Chris Powell when he was initially appointed.
Although as a general rule I distrust anyone with a first name for a surname (Elton John and Ben Elton for example).
