Did I just dream that we won 5-0 this weekend??
I have been one of Waddock's critics in terms of tactics and his signings but credit where credit is due that is a fantastic result and the loan signings this week hopefully look like the backbone we have been crying out for. The important thing will be how we follow this up. Many of loan signings have had a good first game, just look at the endless list of debut scorers but lets hope they can keep putting in some good performances.
As many have mentioned Doherty's talking and organisation at the back is a massive plus and will lift the quieter players like McCoy and Basey and hopefully mean that Bull isn't on his own! Also Hayes will hopefully help share the scoring duties with Beaver!
Finchy you got it spot on mate and Waddock i have criticised you incessantly and labelled you useless and to be honest it will take a lot longer for me to change my mind but as has been said credit where it is due you got it right this time now it needs to be followed up.
Wehave scunny, leyton orient, colchester, bury and exeter next 5 games and if we are to stay up we have to at least look to get a couple of wins from that lot and avoid losing to scunny and exeter.
I also have to mention Doherty and Eastmond. They were terrific. Doherty pulled and pushed people about and talked the whole match which helped the other defenders enormously and Eastmond was like a yound Tommy doc - broke up play covered the defence and used the ball well which gave lewis the freedom to use all his energy going forward i think it looks a good combination.
But like i say its only one game we need to back it up consistantly.
