I just feel we never seem to have a plan b away from home.

Nigel's tactics leave a lot to be desired away from home. He is overly stubborn in that he only seems to play 2 formations.

Second half I'd like to see an out and out 433 to match Blackpool, we may as well go for broke.. but they might have goal difference in mind

I'll just make a point about the pitch, it doesn't seem so bad when Blackpool are in attack does it?

I just think we're playing badly..

The ref is having a shocker but we deserve to be behind..

2nd goal is horrible, Hoovield not only missed the easy header but lost out (and out of position on the gk punt, really is should be the LB's header...) in the aerial challenge which was flicked on into his position

I know we get a lot of cash from televised games. But i think we may have to cut that out of our business model, we play dire on tv

Well ! We need to play more direct then! You have to adapt and not be stubborn and inflexible, much like Nigel's formations

That's the poorest half i've seen from us this season, the game could really have been all over and if we don't improve dramatically at the start of the second half it soon will be. Chaplow, Guly ,Sharp and the whole defence really need to up their games or this could turn out to be an embarrassing result.

Yes. We're an utterly woeful team, hence the fact that we've taken 26 of the last 30 points available.

I have to admit, the poster does have a point, though. For any casual viewer, who watches the Saints games on TV, we've been atrocious the last few times. They must wonder how the hell we're top of the Championship.
They are the only times I've seen us play away this season - just seems we lack confidence, let teams overrun us, and don't seem to have that steel and ruthless attitude other (lesser) teams show.

However, not being negative - we can certainly claw back a 2 goal deficit in the second half if we come out with the right attitude, and Nigel's half-time talk does its trick. Need to sort out our approach, though, and yes, play those early balls!

Really really poor, worst performance of the season for me by far, but whatever the result NA will draw a blue line under it and move onto the next game.

Correct, the score is well deserved. But its not over yet.

We only have ourselves to blame.

Blackpool's penalty came almost immediately after we missed ours. And their 2nd came straight after Hoovield's miss. We could easily be 2-0 up! 4 goal swing..

Yeah, but surely anyone who is only going by the televised games should be cognizant of the fact that it's a pretty small sample size and we've been winning the vast majority of our games, and thus it's rather unlikely that we've played terribly throughout.

The ref really isn't an excuse. Very rare you get a ref who both sides agree is completely fair. One team always gets the rub of the ref (stop it!), no changing that. They are way more positive, less nervous, more direct, better! They'll have picked up on the fact that we're a bit nervous - Sharp hopefully won't let that awful pen knock his confidence.

Guly imo is so far our best player. Certainly looks like the only one giving it his all. Probably end up on a red, but still...
