Not to mention Matt Phillips - he caused us all sorts of trouble at SMS.

Tbh, I think he'll be a bit easier, as he's far less experienced. Kevin Philips knows the game so well he'll be the main problem. He'll make space for others and invariably be in the right position to score, at some point. He's always had that ability and has just got better at it with age. He also plays with intelligence in that, as he has become a bit slower, and being unable to outpace or run at defenders any longer, he has concentrated on his goal poaching abilities, which are practically second to none. In all honesty, if he was in the Saints squad right now I wouldn't complain.

I can agree with that. Kevin Phillips has been one of the most under utilised players (versus ability) in the last 5 years Remember when WBA let him go becasue he wanted a two year contract instead of the one year they offered?? Madness. He is and always has been a quality footballer. I felt at times when he was with us, he was too thoughts ahead of the others

Farm from certain that he'll even start. Holloway seems to change his forward players every game. Kevin Phillips seems to be the only one fairly certain of a starting place each week, and he gets his fair share of starts from the bench.

I think it's one of Blackpool's biggest problems this season. Just don't have a settled XI.

I am not too sure Lambert will start as Adkins was rather coy on the subject.

Blackpool have to attack and so hopefully we can get some goals as their defence is always wide open, although they do have a potent attack. Seen as there has never been a goalless draw between the two sides, who are the top goal scorers in the league, in eighty attempts and the match is on tv are we tempting fate and going to witness a 0-0?!

Think Adkins was just being Adkins..teasing the interviewer. He then relented and said that Rickie and Tad had trained. However, if Rickie needs another week, so be it. We have other strikers and another six games to go.

Morning Fran. Yes we should be confident in the whole squad to get the job done. I hate these late starts though, feeling twitchy already!

I'm always twitchy. Visiting my son today and he says he has a place behind the sofa ready for me. Hope he has a duvet to pull over my head as well. I usually turn off TV for the last few minutes to make sure the opposition can't score, but don't think he will allow that.

Tried that in the past. Didn't work! Let's just hope we are a couple of gaols clear by the last few mins.

I would be really happy and amazed if we can keep a clean sheet at the back. Blackpool have scored in every game since the new year I believe. Quite confident we will get a good result :D COYR's & a cracking match too!

If he does miss out, will be interesting to see who replaces him in central defence: Martin, Seaborne or Cork?
