Lambert has definitely been our best player. Lallana has also played well, but there's really no argument over who has been the most influential Saint thus far.

Even if for one second we pretended that BR is right, and Lambert isn't very good and that Lallana is in fact our best player (I assume it's Lallana he was referring). That still doesn't explain his comment about us being a one man team, and that recent results are showing this.

We lost to Brighton, with Lallana. We lost to Bristol City, with Lallana. We drew Pompey, with Lallana. We drew Blackpool, with Lallana. We lost to Doncaster, with Lallana. We lost to Bristol City (the first time), with Lallana.

It was only Leicester that we slipped up without Lallana. So how is our recent form showing that we rely on Lallana so much??!!!!!

Our next two games are againest Doncaster & Coventry and your two next games are againest Cardiff & Birmingham let's see who has a more realistic chance after them games ;)[/QUOTE]

We've got to play both of them AT HOME also before the end if the season. We all play the same teams twice, it didn't matter in the slightest that you have them in the next 2 games <laugh>. we have pretty much the best possible last 10 games so let's see where we both are then ay

To be fair to the Reading fan, it isn't a banker he'd choose us over them. It'll be down to lots of things, including wages, area to live, current playing style, likely pressure at new club, current playing staff, people he may or may not know and possibly even chairman and owners. I'm sure future plans are presented to potential signings and ours will look good, but Reading may also be able to present some future excitment under new owners.

nothing is foregone on this yet.

How cute, a Reading fan is all excited now they've got an allegedly wealthy Russian.

I wouldn't normally get too cocky about these kinda things, but I would be a bit surprised if he chose reading over us IMO. Then again to the fan's credit, they could easily be above us by saturday evening.

they couldn't as they don't play on tuesday

Here we go another fan of a club in form having a pop. Listen mate we have been inundated with injuries and suspensions of late. Once these players are back we will hit the form of sept/oct/nov. Reading have a smaller fan base than saints and Southampton's backers are vastly wealthier than your prospective buyers. End of the day you do not have players like lallana and Lambert to allow Sharp to thrive.

One thing in Sharps favour is that he's proven at this level, unlike Barnard who I expect will go out on loan for a month or two.

Assuming we do sign a striker in the next couple of days, I'd quite like us to loan Barnard to Bournemouth. Would help to get him match fit again, and would help Bournemouth's promotion charge (I'd like the Cherries to get promoted).

Stay at Donny or double your wages somewhere else with a better chance of promotion?

Sure, he wants to go to a premier league club, but none of them want him, and they probably won't want him in the summer. If he believes in his ability he must be confident of promotion whoever he joins.

Could also stay at Donny, and then go to whichever Championship side that has gone up wants to sign him. Though a risky strategy.
