SAFC youngster Billy Knott is in the squad for the Everton game. The 17 year old left sided midfielder was released by Chelsea last season for disciplinary reasons, but was rated highly, more so than his at the time Chelsea teammate Josh McEachran.

Following trials with Newcastle & Sunderland, Knott chose to sign for the biggest team in the North East, and will wear number 30 tomorrow.

Must have something about him for Bruce to promote him to the senior squad so soon AND guarantee him a place on the bench. Here's hoping!!

I saw this on the news and wondered where he had come from. I had not heard of him before today.

Good luck to him and well done Brucie for giving him a chance

Funny how the Toon fan says they 'chose not to sign him', yet the national press, Sunderland AFC, the player, and his former employers Chelsea FC said he 'chose Sunderland'

What a knacker.
