Why is Denmark's Eriksen taking good set-pieces? Assists from corners and goals from free-kicks?
Anyone remember the last time that he did that for us?
Not knocking him, as he's been generally great, but that part of his game's gone to pot recently.

IIRC it has been almost 2 years since Eriksen last scored from a free kick. That brace against Swansea in October 2015 <yikes>

Rooney is hardly a pinup! More like a trod on......that face has gone through a lot of hard days.......and nights!

................No takers?

Paul Stewart...............................................on about his new book 'Damaged'. Good luck, son!

Addendum: Mrs B has trained me that there are commonly used expressions that you don't use when talking to someone about sexual abuse......................... I won't repeat it but Andy Jacobs went in studs up with both feet at the main one. Not great!

Paul Stewart was an excellent interviewee and I hope that the book does well for him.

An interesting article on where England's youth teams players are registered.

https://www.fourfourtwo.com/feature...future-make-three-lions-youth-squads-revealed

Chelsea (30), Citeh (18), Arsenal (16) and Spurs (11) are the only clubs in double figures and not any enormous surprise.

Fulham and Reading (8) are surprisingly above Everton (7) and Liverpool (5). Of Liverpool's 5 representatives, 3 of them were bought in from other Academies. It's not clear how many breaches of transfer rules were involved.

Manchester United muster a very sad looking 3 (three). That's a pretty sad legacy to the post-Sir Ferguson years.

I thought Everton would be higher. Maybe they're just better at giving opportunities to youngsters?
Tom Davies might be worth a shout for the England senior team soon, especially given the lack of similar players in that role.
He also might become the first player to be sponsored by a company with the same name as him.
Tom Davies wears Tom Davies. Confusing the **** out of a search engine near you soon.

I suppose that line of first class young British footballers may be drying up if not encouraged by their local clubs who seem more interested in buying players from all over the planet.
I wonder if there are any Martian footballers on the cheap?

Nope they're all reds.

Is Looney playing against us on Saturday or is he suspended?

The soon to be ex-wife has probably got him on lock-down whilst he dries out and she brutalises his assets.

I'm sure it's exactly what Everton wanted when they signed him. On top of Barkley and failing to land a striker, it's proving that a week is not just a long time in politics.
