Given his injury history, are we sure Vic and Sissoko weren't just picking up GKN?

It's 100 years since the formation of the Dick, Kerr's Ladies Football Team.
Formed as the works team for Dick, Kerr & Co of Preston by women recruited to make ammunition for the war.
They played until 1965 losing only 24 of 828 games played (including matches v men's teams). They went on an unbeaten run of 320 games!!
On Boxing Day 1920 they played in front of 53,000 at Goodison Park with 14,000 more spectators left outside the ground unable to get in.
In fact, they were so popular the F.A banned women's football from being played at members' grounds claiming football was "unsuitable for females"!
This ban was not rescinded until 1971.
    Quite a story.

My nephew's in The Marsden and today, he got Jamie 'She ****ed off and left me with the kids' Redknapp and Jack 'I love Arsenal although I know **** all about football' Whitehouse. When your luck's out, it's out.

Still hope for the kid, as it was Jack Whitehouse visiting
and not Jack 'I'll spend more time in hospital than you' Wilshere.

Alli should not play in that one.
The current media Narrative (TM) + Spanners as
    opposition + Dean = sh*t storm.

As illustration of the distortion the broadcasters cause
to the fixture schedule (the Spanner game shambles aside) ,
the Soton PL game is being played in week *20* and not 19
(each club should have played all other clubs in the PL once
    after week 19) .

Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose at the darts tonight.
Rose holding up a card with a message that he taught Harry Kane everything he knows

Excellent, the end of one of the most corrupt regimes in Africa. I might be able to get a visa there now. They refused me a visa in 2012 because I told their Minister of Labour, a guy call Bokai Sirleaf, to go fourth an multiply. He was demanding taxes for me and my 5 employees in cash. I told him to go and see my solicitor in Monrovia and he would give him a cheque, but the guy insisted on cash. I told him the cash would go in his pocket and the people of Liberia would never see it so his best bet was to feck off. I was very nervous, thinking I might get locked up but nothing came of it until I applied for another work visa.
Hopefully Weah might change things for the better.

It has for some time been apparent that 'honours' distributed like confetti to sports people, politicians, and celebrities are now a complete waste of time. But whilst I can normally see some measure of why the honour has been bestowed - today I read that Ringo Starr and Nick Clegg are to be knighted - and I am speechless Ringo widely acknowledged as not even being the best drummer in the Beatles has as far as I can see done nothing of note since 1970 and Nick Clegg has just done nothing of note.

Nick Clegg totally fekked the dim libs, surely that is worth a knighthood.

Are you kidding? What about Ringo’s sublime performance in narrating Thomas The Tank Engine? <laugh>

Sorry how did I forget this incredible contribution to our popular culture - Though it should be remembered that he did only narrate the first 2 series before the remarkably similar sounding Michael Angelis (Boys from the Blackstuff / The Liver Birds etc) took over for the next 20 years!
