    On this Day in 1966,England won the world cup,Beating West Germany 4-2 aet,with Geoff Hurst scoring a hat-trick,i say if Greavsie had played,we would'nt have needed extra time!

    Also, they didn't even have colour tv so i doubt the possibilities of such a thing crossed anyones minds

    Even the most anti-UEFA person would have had to feel sympathy for Platini last summer, as for the Greece/Germany match he spent 90 minutes sat between Angela Merkel and Antonis Samaras...

    The look on his face during the anthems indicated one of three things:
    1.) He knew he was in for a long night
    2.) The two had been bickering since they got to the stadium
    3.) He'd just had to put up with some remarkably loud booing from the bloke sat next to him when Deutschlandlied was played
