The only three that I can think of are all ours. Mendes at Old Trafford was incorrectly not given, Mata in the FA Cup semi was incorrectly given, as was Lampard's against Gomes.
There must be more than that, of course, but the only one I can remember was Attwell's aberration in the Reading v Watford game, but that was in the Championship.
There's also a variety of pre-Prem balls ups.

Brian McDermott sacked by Reading. He's a good man and I feel desperately sad for him.

Yeah. You get the feeling Reading have nothing to lose though now, they briefly rallied in January but I could only see them falling further off the pace with the fixtures they've got coming up. Not sure who they can bring in to change things though, maybe Curbishley will finally get a job at the 2,312th attempt.

I think Reading are the poorest side in the PL, but I also feel McDermott has done exceptionally well there. Easy to forget he inherited a shambles there after the shambolic management of Brendan Rogers.

Curbishley would be a good fit for Reading, and maybe Madejski would go for him, but of course Madejski no longer has the final say, it's the Russian and I can't see a Russian going for Curbishley.

Ridiculous decision. They were still in with a chance of surviving. What can a new man do that he can't in 9 games?

I remember Barnsley once got a goal when a throw-in evaded everyone and went in, with the linesman (wrongly) adjudging somebody got a touch.

Agreed but the Russian to his credit has been fairly patient with him compared to a lot of other owners(particularly the foreign ones). They might be the poorest side in the league but sometimes when you shake things up a bit it can bring out the best in a squad.

I just don't know who's good that they could get in apart from a manager out of work. Steve Kean's worked there before I suppose but unless it's another foreign manager that I've never heard of before that's getting hired I think Curbishley's got his best chance yet of getting back into the game. Uwe Rosler might be a surprise choice but Reading have plenty of form taking Brentford players so maybe not so far fetched, he's done a great job there.

He might be a good man but isn't he an ex goon? It's Karma, his past catching up with him.

They should have bought Defoe in the window. I hope that they stay up instead of the dross that's coming next season.

I think it's PR. if the club wait till Reading are relegated to sack him then it looks even worse (IMO).

Nice to see my old mate Graham in there, making his usual balls up in favour of the side with the most people whose first names he knows.
His familiarity with some of the players often saw him make an utter tit of himself.

I'm not in SW6. No need to get upset by him anyway, just because he got a bit pissy with Terry for forgetting his birthday. Or being a big racist. Allegedly... <whistle>

I live close to reading, so there's a lot of supporters round here. I played 5-a-side last night and a lot of the lads at the tournament are royals. They were all fuming over the sacking, which goes to show how much respect they have for McDermott. - it's another terrible decision we've seen in the prem this year.
What makes it worse is di canio looks to be the man taking over. I said to my old man that him leaving Swindon was a bit odd. it didnt add up and his reasons seemed weak and vague. But this is why. Swindon and reading are rivals, which is why he left Swindon, so he'd be "unemployed" and not directly leaving Swindon for reading. (Or so it would seem). I expect this move has been planned for some time. ****er.

I don't think he will do any good at Reading, not the right man for them, imo

Modric linked with United by the Fail.

No sources, no quotes, only that he's desperate to leave apparently... <whistle>

On a side note, anyone else find it impossible to find the smiley your looking for half the time?

EDIT: Just seen it on rivals thread, damn.

He's a massive risk. League 2, followed by league 1 is a different ball game to the premier league. yes, he's done a good job at a lower level, but his ego and "ways" could cause huge problems in the premier league.
But then again, the reading job is just probably a stepping stone. At the end of the season he'll probably walk out and replace Big Sam at west Ham.

    <laugh> yes!!
