Just to add my thoughts on the 'Lennon transfer to Inter' scoop that miraculously appeared in the media 48 hours before we happen to play them......

I ranted last week at the way, a couple of days before we were to take on the Goons, lo and behold a story appears about Ade falling out with the club in general and AVB in particular. No quotes, no substance - but we somehow are happy to start a debate around it. Well, do we start to see a pattern??

This won't be the first or the last time that a powerful club will use its influence in the media to destabilise an opponent. But FFS guys - Lennon to Inter???? <doh>

Great little player and there aren't many I would change him for at Spurs, but hardly the man to 'take Inter back to the top'. And as others have said, Azza would feel as comfortable in Milan as a Turkish ref in a ManUre Supporters Club Xmas Party.

In other words - complete hogwash!!

I'd take it another way - it's the media saying we don't fit in with what their idea of an English club in the Champions League should be, and we need to get out of the way. It's not a new thing, it's been going on ever since we were threatening to break into the top four.

Examples of English clubs they feel should represent the Premier League:
Manchester City - back-to-back first round eliminations, would fail to qualify under Financial Fair Play
Chelsea - failed to finish top four last season, could fail to do so this season, would fail to qualify under FFP
Manchester United - keep finding out they can't bully UEFA officials like they can Premier League ones
Arsenal - feeder club for the two Manchester teams
Liverpool - have failed to qualify for several seasons
 
Reading manager in post match interview talks about decisions which never went their way.

Interviewer then asks him about a blatant villa penalty not being given.

Reading manager responds " I never saw it, listen, lets not talk about refs or decisions, lets talk about the game"

That was almost as far over the line as Mata's at Wembley last season when he broke the back of the net ;)

Seriously though I'm amazed the linesman didn't see that, shades of Pedro Mendes about it.
 
How many of these goalline incidents have affected Premier League teams (not necessarily in the competition itself) since it's inception?
I can only think of three that were incorrectly given, but I assume that I'm forgetting some.

I can think of 2 just for Spurs, so unless we are very unlucky there must be more
